Forgive me father, for I have sinned.......

It's been several weeks since my last confession of allowing my rims to pit over winter due to lack of TLC.

Gave them a quick wash dow this weekend and noticed a fair bit of engine paint peeling off at the bottom right hand side.

Have other bits of rust appearing too, on the pannier racks and their frame mounts.

Not a strip down prime and respray kinda person so is there anything out there I can just spray or brush on that won't look too bad ? Anything that goes straight on to rust and magically east it ?

Hammerite and BBQ paint are my expected suggestions but I really want the most idiot proof.

I would probably go with 'Smoothrite' from Hammerite. It requires the minimum of preparation. They also do it in a satin finish which is more akin to the original powder coat finish on the casings.

By a bit of careful masking and a little bit of careful preparation with wet and dry, i got an almost invisible finish on my engine casing following a 'pre crash bar' tumble!

hope this helps?
