I'm always having to "look" for neutral....

The 06 Tiger (1500 miles) I'm riding is new to me (less than 200 miles), and this is my first Triumph (yes, I've lived a shallow life). My past experience is with BMWs and DUCs.

Before my purchase, I tested a new 06 Tiger and experienced the same "hard to find" neutral.

Can I expect this to improve with a little age, or is it just one of those Triumph thangs that I'll grow to love...
:???: :-D

It will get easier with little more miles on it plus you get get used to it too. I have 16000 miles on mine and I don't have any problems finding neutral any more. :-g

Yeah, I have this issue as well.

I almost always have to either bump the bike up into neutral as I am rolling to a stop, or move the bike forwards or back a little to get it to go into neutral.

On the bright side, as I have just about 1000 miles on the bike now, it is either beginning to loosen up a bit or I am getting better at fooling myself! :-D

It will get better. Also, cold weather exacerbates this problem.

So that explains why she was so notchy on me the other day. It was 40 F and sunny in Ohio, couldn't resist a ride.. I've got the itch bad this year. Where is spring?

I had this exact problem with my 'new' '06. I adjusted the clutch (at the lever), and now it's no problem getting it into neutral. I did have to adjust the opposite way my brain told me, however.

Easy, free. Give it a whirl.

As I got to around 10,000 miles my '06 developed same problem.
During 12,000 mile service the clutch was adjusted and it has been great since then.
Think cbxt6 has the right idea.

I read on another thread to shift up to 2nd and then back down to neutral, I tried it the other day and it works.

I had exactly the same problem with my 2006 Tiger.
It was even worse with more km. One day I couldn't switch to neutral at all.
Then I tightened clutch cable ... and it was it !!!!
Now I can shift neutral pretty easily ! :-D

Just tighten clutch cable at left handlebar, 2-3 turn will do the trick.
