Two questions in one hit.

First one.

Any of the Scots on the forum heading to Ingliston this weekend for the Bike show? what are the chances of it being snowed off again?

Second one.

Any of the same group heading for the Glasgow Easter Egg run on Easter Sunday. Last year was a record (as they seem to be year on year) 8000+ bikes there & I only saw one other Tiger. Great day out come along & bring an Easter Egg for the kids or/& a donation fro Yorkhill. Have a look on the MAG Scotland website.

Hi BigD

I'll be at Inglsiton on the Saturday (Sunday I have to work!! )

For my sins I'll be on the BMF stand most of the day, but hopefully I'll get a chance to have a good nose around and maybe let the moths out of the wallet!!.....though I'm not looking for anything, it's never stopped me buying stuff in years gone by!!!!

Maybe see you there.....I'm not sure what the forecast is for this weekend, but let's hope one day isn't snowed off again.

Ride safe!

Ken... :-D

Hey BigD, long time, you been hibernating?

Yes, I'll be heading to Ingliston on Saturday, then up to Perth on Sunday to wake the sleeping Tiger up...

Easter egg run is also planned, it will be my first as I have had a tendency to miss it every year for very stupid reasons - if the bike hasn't been in for repair it's been myself being in for repair in one shape or another, so don't want to miss it again...

TT sort of been hibernating, kind of went into winter mode, lurked on the forum now and then, nothing much to say, had the bike out most weeks though, except for a spell after new year cos I had a wrecked knee, old war wound you know, god are the roads muddy just now with all the unnecessary salt round here, been an open winter as you know and I swear when it looks like the temp may drop near (within 5 deg) of freezing they salt the roads like a blizzard is on the way. Came home on Wednesday & had to hose both me and the bike, poor old Tigger is a sort of muddy orange lump at the minute. The joys of winter biking eh.

Glad to hear you will be at the show on Sat TT may bump into you, did you ever manage to use the yellow paint I gave you or was it beyond salvage? Hope you can make the Egg Run it really is a brilliant event.

Ken, will call in at the BMF stand & see if I can introduce myself.

Fingers crossed for better weather, thermals on for standing around outside at Ingliston Bl**dy cauld in the East so it is.

See you there.

Hi BigD

Haven't used the paint so far, I was all set to go then thought yellow hugger would be a bit too much. Saying that the last week I've been scanning the forum album, and have to admit the colour coded huggers do look pretty smart, so I'm considering project for this year to give it the paintjob w. some black Tiger stripe decals to tone it down a little bit. Not sure what the state of the paint will be, but I'll leave it to the professionals to decide whether it's useable - if nothing else it should help them finding the right colour mix.

Hopefully bump into you tomorrow, Ken I'll try to stop by BMF as well.

Cheers

Sorry, never bumped into any of you at the show.
All in all I have to admit I was a little bit disappointed this year, I get the feeling the proportion of stalls selling just junk is going up each year. I had a shopping list for the day, I ended up buying nothing from the list. I'll quite happily go to the local Glasgow mc shops and pick everything up there instead - might cost me more, but at least I don't have to trail through buckets of pick-and-mix bike miscellania to find it....

Honday didn't bother turning up for the show - had a chat to their Perth dealer later on Sat and turns out they had an argument with MCN and therefore dropped the whole thing. Not that I'm after a Honda at such, but I always jump on the Varadero just to compare the big traillies. Out of the one's that were there the only interesting one's were obviously the Tiger and the 990Adv. I had to laugh at the GS Adventure - apologies to anyone owning this bike - i.m.h.o. BMW has just gone completely OTT and turned it into a massive Tonkatoy battle tank, 12 grand is starting to get a bit ridiculous, and I can't see how the overland crowd would choose it over the slim and probably lighter 990Adv any more....

Highlight of the day was however getting to have a chat to Nick Sanders, who was running his own stall selling his books and DVD's. Nice guy, even offered us his goods on a "send me a cheque later" basis when we couldn't find a working cash machine at first. Got his book and DVD both signed so looking forward to spending some hours reading/watching them. (For anyone unaware of who Nick Sanders is, he's a long distance UK bike traveller who set the round the world time record in 19 days 3 hours a couple of years ago.)
