well it happened yesterday,i dropped my tiger!!,i was trying to turn round in a small side street, and the camber on the road made me lose my footing, and over it went with me on board....BUT,i fitted R&G crash bungs to it ages ago,and a lot of members thought they wouldnt work to well because one of them is slightly shorter than the other.

after talking to the owner of R&G at a bike show last year,he told me they were developing a new set for the tiger, because the set i bought were actually deigned for another triumph, but they did fit the tiger so thats why they sold them for the tiger

i am very glad to report, they work brilliantly,it went over on the right hand side, and the only thing that was even marked was the crash bung, and i just sanded the marks out when i got home,so thanks to R&G for a job well done, and only £86.00,its a bargain!!! :-D

Glad you came out of alright. Must admit, I didn't think bungs would work. Have you got any pics of them on your bike?

Personally I like the GSG crashpads much better. Had them fitted to my 1050 Tiger. Because of two attachment points the loads are divided. Picture also shows the case pad, protecting the dynamo cover:

GSG?? i havent heard of them,do they do pads for the standard tiger (99/2006) 885i and 955i.

it was hard to find some sort of crash protection for the tiger that didnt involve making your bike look like you just fitted some train tracks to the side of it.

and its evn more difficult for my version the 885i as no one does any crash bars for it,they are all for the 955i.

do you have a web site for them,i have looked but cannot find anything

Look here for a picture of the pads they make for 885/955 Tigers from '99 onwards. You can also order them from my source.

I can only judge as far as Triumph is concerned, but in that respect their list is very much out of date, there are many more models for which GSG makes crashpads etc.
