yesterday I took a jaunt into S Glos from my Stamping ground. I stopped for a break at a BMW dealership and chewed the 'cud' with some GSer's, mostly on 1150's. Fine bike it is. I saw for the first time a 1200GS and had a play with same. Very nice indeed. However, the price. Standard with abs ( No non-abs bikes available) £9.4K plus about £600 for top boxes and panniers. The price came in at well over £10K. In effect that is a £3K difference between a new Tiger and the 1200 GS :???:

Hope I don't start a thread on the lines this bike is better than that bike etc etc as the Beemers are cracking machines, but anyone after a giant trailee simply has to look at the Tiger. It is so much value for money. It makes me all the happier at the £5.9 I paid for my new, (old one) a few months back !!

Right across the Triumph range it's good value for money.
Each model stacked up against the competition equivelant is extremely competetive.

I agree with you Trotts, to generalise and say this bike is better than that bike is like comparing apples with oranges. They are all different in the way they do what they do.

I get on my Tiger and feel smug knowing it was my country men that put this thing together, and it's all the more sweet being a quality product.

Triumph bikes are as good as, and in some cases better than the competition (in certain aspects).

But at the end of the day it's all down to personal choice.
