What's the longest trip anyone has done on their tiger or plan to do? If I do get one I am thinking about going to the vintage motorcycle festival in Ohio this summer, leaving from Alabama.

Tucson, AZ - Indianapolis, IN - Great Falls, MT - Vancouver, BC - Reno, NV - Salt Lake City, UT - Rock Springs, WY - Tucson. The route listed are the "corners" of the trip, it was 19 days with various stops and two meetings for work thrown in! 7505 miles in hot weather, rain, wind, hail, and snow. And this was in July! No problems at all with the machine, I got a new rear tire and a hugger installed at Baxter Cycle in Marne, IA and had to replace a chain in Missoula, MT.
My longest single day has been 1027.6 miles around Arizona last April. That was a Saddle Sore 1000 for the Iron Butt Association. It took 17 hours and was without incident. Mobile to Cleveland is "only" 970 miles. A daytrip that wouldn't even qualify you for the IBA!
The Tiger is a travelling machine! By interstate it's 115 miles from Tucson to Phoenix. By Tiger it's 270 miles, 65 of that on dirt roads.

I've had my Tiger since 10/06 and have put on 5900 miles so far.
Longest 430 in one day.860 in 2 days Plus I ride 100 miles a day to work and back. If the roads are dry I ride. Ridden in 20 degree temps. I just like to ride. The Tigers meant to be ridden Not in the garage, like Harley rider do!!!

4000 miles in 8 days (includeing the 2 days there) to the south west corner of Misouri and back in August. The machine was a hoot, can't say the same about Kansas. And for those that swing through the SW cornor of Idaho in the future give me a shout.

Plenty of Tiger riders have done 1000 mile days! In fact..
it's almost a piece of cake on a Tiger.

But ... I think more impressive is the the weather during the ride. My wife put 400 miles on the back of an '06 Tiger in 60 mph winds, rain, sleet, snow, and ice! The following day she added another 600 in 50°F, high winds.
Total trip was 2400 miles in the Rockies and Great Plains.

When we got home she says, " Did I do OK?" This was her first trip on a motorcycle ... oh and she's 59 years old! I guarantee alot of guys can't ride those distances without squealing like stuck pigs.

BTW HG .... She's from Montgomery. So harden up your butt and go for a ride!

Virtually did a lap of Australia last September. 14000km in 21 days including serveral hundred on unsealed roads. Covered 4500 of those in the last three days getting back from Melbourne after the MotoGP race.

Thr Tiger is a serious mile eater. It has the touring seating position but not the heft. The only negative is the turbulence, but this can be (largely) solved.

Go for it!

The most i have ever ridden on the Tiger is 738 miles in one day. I was pretty knackered at the end of the ride and i certainly knew i had done it ! But considering that i have several bad vertebrae in my lumbar spine and osteoporosis in my neck, i cannot imagine being able to do it on any other bike ??

My only concessions to comfort have been the gel saddle, an MRA Vario screen and for mega long rides i fit cruiser pegs to the crashbars..... looks a bit strange, but just being able to change the position of my legs is a godsend

I thin we need to give credit to folks in the UK who undertake really long rides. I can leave home and within twenty minutes I'm done with civilization. I can ride at 80 mph for hundreds, maybe thousands of mile without having to face a single traffic control device. There are times when you can see 100 miles ahead and know what the weather's going to do to you. Having driven in the UK and Ireland, I have to give credit to anybody who could do 738 miles in a day, regardless of the health issues involved. I did my Iron Butt ride around Arizona in 17.5 hours and only needed to change to lighter gloves when I reached the western deserts. I saw virtually no traffic - it was a Wednesday - and rode from elevations of 300' above sea level to almost 7000'. We really have it easy in the states when it comes to really long rides.
Now the Demented Darwin Dude is somebody who deserves respect! I spent some time in QLD and the NT (lived in Casuarina for about a week), it was actually where I discovered and fell in love with the Tiger. That's tough stuff! It's as close to being on another planet without having to do the launch-into-orbit thing! I want to ride the Postie Bike Challenge http://www.postiebikechallenge.org/ if the financial situation can be worked out and the wife can be convinced it's something I need to do. Let's keep showing folks that the Tiger is an amazing piece of machinery on every continent!
