Anyone using Triumphs heated grips? If so give us a review. My fingers are going numb in 40 plus degree weather with good cold weather gloves on. This cold weather is cutting into my ride time, tell me these things work.

They work. They are worth it although after-markets can be had for considerably less.

Work well.
Must have item for cold-weather riding.
Two settings cover most needs.

I'd love to tell you how they work, but
a) I haven't fitted them yet, they're still in the box and,
b) It's too darn hot in Sydney to warrant using them at this time of the year

Sorry, couldn't help my self :-D

Mick

They Work!

I got mine when I purchased my '06- I did the install myself in just about half an hour.
I'll tell you- these things totally change the way I think about the weather! I have been riding consistently since I got the bike in mid-December with temps in the 30's and even high 20's- hands stay warm enough.
I haven't tried any other aftermarket heaters, and I know that they are less expensive, but the Triumph units plug right in to the wiring harness and even have a hole for the switch...
Spend the money- you won't regret it!

They do work, though my thumbs still seem to get cold - not gripping the bar as tightly I suppose. But having tried the heated Gerbing gloves at the Excel show I would probably go for those next, though they were a bit pricey.

I've just fitted Triumph heated grips to my RS, and have no regrets. They are more expensive than aftermarket, but they plug into the existing loom and are easy to fit. The grips themselves are only slightly larger diameter than the original, unlike some others. It's true that heated gloves would be better for the backs of the hands but if you have Tiger handguards you'll have better protection from the wind than me. I haven't used them in sub-zero yet and so far I'm finding them too warm (1-5 deg C), even on the low setting, but I have no doubt that they'll be great when I really need them.Good luck.

I am 53 years old and have the dreaded poor circulation hand are always cold. My new 07 tiger came with heated grips went for a ride in 45 degree weather it was great. So good when I buy my next bike if it does not have heated grips I will not buy best money I ever spent

Thanks Miker, hope you get freak snow storm there and a big ol' snow ball creams ya when you step out of the house.

And thanks for the input from the rest of you. I believe I will be ordering heated grips very soon. I am going to go with the Triumph for OEM look and ease of installation.

They get really hot, but hands still stay cold after 30 mins or so. Are my gloves too thick? Do most people wear thinner gloves these days? Maybe my glove choice is stuck in the past!
