.. for my 06 Tiger.

Have I been conned? It looks identical to my standard screen.

Has anybody else bought one?

Cheers,
BEL

I have one. I didn't replace a screen, I bought the bike as a wreck and it didn't have one so I can't compare. I got a real deal on the GIVI. I have, since installing the screen, modified my mirrors and added a secondary/extension/airfoil made out of 1/16 Lexan to the screen to try and reduce the notorious buffeting. I really enjoyed all the warning stickers that came on the screen. It sounds like if you park the bike outside, the screen wil focus the sun on the bike and burn it up! Maybe this is an American thing - lawyers are everywhere! - but so far I've had no fires and I live in the Arizona desert!

Why would you buy one that was virtually identical? :???: The standard screen from my limited experience with the bike and from what I've read on this forum, has its limitations. I have a considerably taller one that I have mentioned on this forum, with links to a couple of pics. I went with an Eagle Screen.

I bought the Givi touring a few moths ago, without doing my homework. It's about 1.5'' taller than stock, but curves upward just like the stock. I imagine the Givi standard just replicates the stock. Some believe that the upward curve causes a lot of the buffeting. I'm going to slice the top portion off of one of them and make a sports screen. Clean airflow to the helmet is the quietest Tiger you can have. No screen has yet been unanimously agreed upon to be the "quiet" solution.

I replaced my stock screen that was badly scratched and pitted with a Givi that was taller (1.5" sounds about right). The tint was darker which took a little bit to get use to. I noticed an improvement with the noise and buffeting (I'm 5'8"). The big difference in noise and buffeting for me came when I purchased an HJC open face helmet which is round instead of aerodynamically profiled as my Shoei full face is. The air seems to flow smoother over that round shape.

Yep, I think I have been had. Good job I got it cheap.

Same as the standard screen. OK up to about 70mph but as you approach a ton your vision blurs. I am going to put my Cee Bailey back on for now and maybe cut that down slightly to keep the width but let the wind hit me slightly lower.

So now you can cut it down and make a "sports screen". I've got the ACTUAL Triumph sport screen and it's the answer to the buffeting problem.
