Just wondering what the plan is for this site...are the new Tigers going to be split off and given their own place to play in the 'Sport & Touring' category?
If it was just a hardware change like in '99 it would be obvious to keep them together....even though the issues and discussions were a little different with the Fuelies vs the Steamers, at least it was a place where people with similar goals (if not bikes) could get together and talk about a common interest.
With the complete departure from the ideology of the bike itself, it seems like now is a good time to lump it with all the other street bikes. Makes sense for everyone...none of you '07 guys need to see my posts about 21" knobbies and dirt protection anymore than I need to see your posts about 17" street slicks and which leather suits you look best in...(little dig there, in case you didn't notice )
How do we do a poll on this thing...do you guys think we should be 'together' or 'separate'?
Out with the new, in with old I say! Separate now!

I'm with you, I am replacing an '06 S3 with the '07 Tiger and expect to be doing as much if not more wheelies with the Tiger. :-D Although, you are a great group of Tiger owners and many of you use your Tigers as I plan to use the '07; travel and commuting.

I made a similar suggestion in the suggestion forum and was shot down. However they did put the 1050i in this forum header. After some thought I like the fact that all the tigers are together like all the prehinkley units. :-D

I've run a 955 tiger with 17" wheels for the last 5 years, this board hasn't caused me any problems, might be a few more people turn with their 07's who realise what they've been missing with big wheels and poor tyres, when they're spoiled for choice!!!.

Unless experience proves that our interests are just completely diverse or we just can not get along I think it should just stay the Tiger forums.
Ok everybody. Group Hug and sing Kumbaya.

Nobody is saying you can't go with 'em.
It's my personal opinion that you started this crazy 17" thing...with your little wheels. Hmph. I hope you're happy!
(oh...I guess you would be...)
And TKCs fit my street riding just perfectly, thank-you. I've never slid it as hard as I've ever pushed it on pavement and get 10k miles out of a rear. Perfectly acceptable. My 21" front and 18" rear work fine, too...except unladen where the center stand bangs off the knobs....but that's besides the point...

I'm flattered that you think i started it!!!,when in actual fact i will become just part of a very large majority, and i'll bet good money that within 18 months BMW have a GS with 17" wheels as well, for those that want the offroad option there's a ready made solution with the KTM,Triumph have clearly looked at the market, and realised the offroad 'Thing' has very limited sales, and most punters just ride on the road.
Even without the 1050,my bet is there are more 17" wheel Tigers around than those with your arrangement, but hey, i'm not going ask you to stand in the corner on your own!!!

Why would I stand in a corner, I'm riding the bike like the big trailie it was intended to be...when this forum was started. Regardless of how people actually rode them.
There used to be a lotta love around this place...and Triumph has gone and wrecked that...divided us. Turned friend against friend...brother against brother - it's just wrong. Did they really think the Scrambler was a viable option to a Tiger?
I like having a big trailie so I guess Triumph has handed KTM another customer...when the Steamer gives out, that is. Can't give up on the Steamer just yet!

Triumph has turned brother against brother ? Seems wee're in danger of losing the plot. The Tiger is just another new motorbike. OK it's a bit of a departure from the current model, but is it really such a big deal ? I doubt more than a tiny minority took their Tiger off-road.It's been stated many times before on this forum that no bike with a dry weight of 225kg is a serious off-roader,and that applies to BMW as well as Triumph.
Personally I look at several forums, depending on my mood.
I would be happy for the 1050 Tiger to stay on this forum, but would not lose any sleep if a new forum is started. All we do is ride bikes and talk about our experiences, surely ?

I had two 900i's and then my 955,i just gave up on the tyre thing, when i read comments about the various options,i'm just left thinking how can anyone think good or bad, even Bridgestone 02's you've not a snowballs chance in hell of ever touching the limits of a Tiger, and when people start turning up with their new 1050,they'll be spoiled for choice, touring, sport, with the advent of Michelins 2CT's
Have a look on the Triumph Tiger.com,at bits and bobs have a look at the tyres!!! that gives you an insite as to what goes on before a bike launch, and no you can't buy e'm!!!,but they were great to ride on!!,in time you'll get an off road 17" assuming there's a demand!!!
