Went to the NEC show today, plenty of Tigers to look at on the Triumph stand,in the different colours, just about everything to be said has been.

Couldn't help but think Triumph could be in some real trouble, cuz on the BM stand they have an HP Super moto and it can't be long till you get a GS version that two people can get on!!!!

Sorry to ask such a question on this forum, but I was wondering if you happened to see or look at the Concours 14. If so, your thoughts.

I have no intentions of going away from my present Tiger right now (second one for me), but since the Tiger style has changed, I believe my future horizions might have to be opened up a little.

Thanks in advance.

The new Concours (actually an 08 to be released in the spring of 07) release is just a little different...

http://www.kawasaki.co.uk/1400gtr/

Concours 14 OR GTR1400

It still isn't a TIGER, but neither is the new one. I got my SECOND <06 TIGER becuase it was different, do all, practical, two up, comfortable, could take on trails, and on and on and on.

To be honest, if I liked the dealer I have, I probably wouldn't even be asking the question.

No, I haven't seen the new one in person, so maybe I'm not being fair. I was just curious as to someones thoughts that might have seen the new bike....knowing in advance this probably wasn't the place to ask the question.

I have great respect for the old Connie. So much for so little. The new one looks like a hoot but I'll bet the price took a drastic jump.

I too went to the Motorcycle Show today. Sat on the new Tiger and first thoughts were: its lower, looked good from the driving seat and got off (dozens of others eager to have a try)

Looked at the bike overall and was really disappointed at the back end styling, why have they (Triumph) jacked up the rear so much? Looked at the Tiger with the boxes on and I thought it looked even more untidy.

I will go and test one. I might be overwhelmed with performance, comfort, cornering etc etc.

I know it's wrong to judge something after a few minutes of just looking but I really did feel a little disappointed when I came away from the stand.

I hope I grow to like the new Tiger in the future.

I think the new Tiger is too different (from previous model) to be called Tiger.

I am not saying I will never buy the new Tiger, I need more time to take all the differences in plus a road test. Prior to my visit to the show I was keen on buying the new Tiger and thought that after seeing one in the flesh a visit to a Triumph agent on the way home to leave a deposit would be the order of the day. Sadly it didn't happen

How very bizarre! I also went to the Motorcycle Show today and signed in now to find that you'd written almost exactly what I was going to write. I sat on the new Tiger expecting the bike to feel special and to make me feel special, but instead I felt... well, nothing. Like I was sitting on any ubiquitous Fazer clone.

Again, it's hard to form any kind of worthwhile opinion on a motorcycle which is standing still but, without that triple engine purring away, to me it lacks the very qualities which drew me to the Tiger in the first place - character and individuality.

Can't wait for a test ride though, I bet it will be a proper tool and really come alive with the engine running - then again, most things with a Trumpet Triple really come alive when the engine's running ;-)

Just back from the N.E.C and I think the new Tiger looks like a Speed Triple with a half fairing. Disappointing !

Also visited show today. Loads of interest in New Tiger. I was not disappointed as such, as it was what I thought it would look like. Simply not interested. Perhaps being unkind to it, but I would not get my other half on the rear, not due to her size, but rake and angle of back end.

I still reckon it will be a winner, but I am really pleased i got mine when I did.

I was told, with panniers etc the new one will be around £8K plus ! The last of the old ones will be sold side by side, no discounts, still coming in at £6.9 fully kitted !
