Aggh I dont know what came over me, but after seeing the write ups and blurb about the new Tiger something went snap. I have put down a deposit on a sprintST. Why, I dunno, I haven't ridden it or heard it but it just had to be done. I mean, if the tiger is gonna go mainstream, then get a proper mainstream bike....
And now to drink heavily

No reason not to have a really good mainstream bike too (and the 2007 ST looks to be more of one than the 05-06 model), but I hope this doesn't mean you're seriously considering giving up old faithful.

Don't let it worry you. I want an ST, too.
I also want an S3, and a Rocket. And I want a new baseball, and one of them projection teevees, and a private indoor shooting range, and free love and nickel beer, and I don't ever want to have to eat eggs again, or tabulli... taboolie... tahbouli - whatever - and...

That's a strange reaction ? Maybe you just looking for an excuse ? It doesn't really matter so long as you're happy with your decision. The Sprnt ST is a fine bike but you may find it feels small and not as comfortable riding long distances.
Good luck and happy riding

Strange reaction indeed, considering Steve's reaction earlier to the new Tiger:
" Apart from the miserly tank capacity, (I "need" 7 gals.). and lack of hand guards, it floats my boat. "
So why not stick to the Tiger? What does a boat have to do more than to float?
On a personal note, the new Tiger 'forced' me to swap mine for a KTM. I am going orange, nice colour for a Dutch anyhow.

Irrational??? Your logic is crazy at best. Maybe ride the new Tiger before being so rash. You based this decision off of internet comments and magazines reviews!!!!
You have a perfectly good bike already.

On the other hand, after to STs (99 and 05) I've ordered a new Tiger. It's time to "sit up straight".

Word. Been waiting a long time to try one of these things and never found one that fit the bill... The Tiger seems to cover all the bases.

I hope you at least sat on the Sprint for a bit. I rode an '06 and the seating position was easily as aggressive as my '98 Daytona had been. Coming off a Tiger that's going to be a rather radical change, particularly if you do any long distance riding.

Well, its a done deal. An ST is on the way... Only problem is now do I keep both and risk the wrath of SWMBO, or make the final change and say goodbye to a brilliant bike. (Thinks, keep the ST for a year and then change to a second hand tiger 1050), it might work. :???:
