I question if Triumph will come up with anything I want again. I see a problem right away with the BMW if you actually ride in rain and mud, or at night. They missed with the scrambler by not having a wide ratio gear box, you certainly don't need to keep the twin in narrow power band, but do need a low first for second rate roads. Interesting to see how many Tiger owners feel betrayed!

I think the G650 is a fantastic looking bike. But a 675 Tiger would by no means be a direct competitor other than in the supermoto poseur arena.

Don't get me wrong - I love triples, and sliding my 955 around in the odd swamp is immense fun, but I think for any serious offroad duty, the delivery of the 675 triple would be outshone by the single. That's why I have a DR-Z as well as the tiger

Have you actually tried this? I ride the Scrambler in all these conditions and and it is a piece of cake to handle compared to the Tiger. Give one a try.

Edited: Ooops, maybe I missed your point, I thought you were saying the Scrambler isn't good in rain, mud, and night. Sorry about that. Nonetheless, I have no problem riding mine around in first in off road conditions.

I've tested the Scrambler off-road and found that it felt a lot lighter than it is. It also trickled along nicely at low speeds. Which is just as well because the suspension is rubbish so higher speeds are..er..exciting.

A rumour I've heard is that BMW are working on an 800GS using the F800 twin engine.
