Hee guys,

does anyone of you know a way to reach the Triumph dealer in or close to Narbonne, France?
Me and my Tiger are stuck there with a punctured rear tire (Metzeler Tourance 150/70 R17 with inner tube) due to a spoke, so even the whole wheel might have to be repaired.

Problem is that it is weekend, and I need to catch a train with the bike in Avignon, 300 km north, Monday at 5 pm.

So I need to get the bike fixed before noon on Monday. Any solutions, please call +31 65366 3531.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Durk !! this might not be any help, the bike should be ok without 1 spoke if you can get it out. you should be able to get to the inner tube without removing the wheel and as you know where the broken spoke is, it should be easy to see the puncture and fix it.

i did look on the Triumph site for dealers in France but Narbonne isn`t listed, there are lots of dealers in France i just don`t know who`s near you ?? sorry !!

good luck !!

KK

Here are a couple suggestions:

1) Try this place 7 km south of you! They may be able to assist you in some way. perhaps a used tire or a local source.

French/British Triumph Tour Service - south of you.

Here's their address and phone #:

Maison St Georges, 21 rue Victor Hugo, 11110, Coursan, France
No Siret: 44079928600016
Tel/Fax: 0033(0)468 33 36 71

Description 0f their service:
"We are an English/French owned and operated Chambres d'hôtes in the South of France, located in the small scenic town of Coursan within easy walking distance of restaurants. We're only 7km from Narbonne, 12km from the golden sandy beaches of the Mediterranean, 1hr from Spain and 2.5hrs from Andorra making an ideal base for touring this beautiful, scenic and historic part of the world.

Run by motorcyclists for motorcyclists, with some of the best roads in the world!
SECURE GARAGING FOR MOTORCYCLES; A WARM WELCOME PLUS COLD BEER IN THE FRIDGE!

2) Try the Tiger frapper map to locate Tiger owners in france. If they are on this site you may be able to identify them and PM/email them - looks like 4 people only but I'm diggin' here:

TIGER FRAPPER MAP

Just a shot in the dark! Let us know how ya get on.

Good luck man!

Thnx guys,
riding without this one spoke will do, but the wheel has already a bend. And I will check this Maison out, at least they might know of something, someone.
Thnx!
Will keep u posted.

Last and final update. The hotel didnt answer the phone, got a answering machine, guess it was end of season.

All bike shops were closed. Went to Euromaster, but they didnt want to help. I had to get a tube myself, and the only bike shop that opened was Moto Expert, an accessory-shop. Though they didnt have the tube, they offered to help out. So I managed to bring the bike to them.

Turned out that 8 spokes were broken, and they didnt have the proper size. So they re-distributed the existing spokes to support the wheel in the best possible way, fixed the tire and got me on my way to Avignon asap.

Only pity was it was already after 4 pm, and we had to be there before 6. But we made it, despite tankstop and two times 'peage', speeding only a bit

Arriving in Dusseldorf this morning, it started to rain, and it didnt stop till Utrecht. We also had to split lanes from Oberhausen to Utrecht, cause one big traffic jam. Its always nice to come home

Again thanks for the support.
And the people from Moto Expert in Narbonne are great !!! Merci bien to them, and au revoir !!!

good to hear you and your Tigger got home ok !! it will be interesting to find out what happened to cause the spokes to fail.
it was one reason i got the 05 mod with the alloy wheels !! I Hate Spokes !! well it was mainly the cleaning of them.

Well Kenny,
i am afraid some heavy offroad riding, with two Ortliebs full of luggage, and after that hours of fun in the twisties of southern France, braking and accelerating hard, was too much for the wheel ..

At least spoke wheels can be repaired..
From now on I will carry some extra spokes with me. Holidaysavers..
