Thought I'd mention this since we have a large-ish Scottish contingent here...

Dropped the bike off at MCS in Renfrew (Glasgow) for new tire + brake pads tonight. Turns out they're dropping Triumph alltogether in the next month or so, last three new Triumphs on the shop floor (two Speed Triples and one Sprint ST going cheaply apparently - in case of the Sprint price quoted was 7200GBP). When I asked why, answer was basically allthough stock was shifting no problem, dealing with Triumph as a company was becoming a burden. I believe they had asked for some sort of return investment from their dealers to continue dealership.

MCS will still service our bikes like before, but looks like we'll have to go further afield to see any new Hinckley metal....

Hi TT

Strangely MCS said the same about Yamaha when they claimed to have dropped them 18 months ago. I find it a bit bizarre that a dealer drops two good manufacturers particularly in Triumphs case when there is no competition about in the West of Scotland????? That means the only make MCS now deal with is Kawasaki. It will be interesting to see if anyone else picks up the Triumph dealership. MCS may still service them but getting parts and sorting out warranty issues will be a problem, nearest now is Two Wheels in Edinburgh which is a right bummer convenience wise. I wouldn't be surprised if MCS wasn't around for too much longer they were trying to punt their Paisley shop about 12 months back.

Have only dealt with TwoWheels to find out how expensive they are compared to tiger-online/Jack Lilley for parts and my local for servicing, but they've always been very helpful.

No sign of them ditching Triumph, not with their shiny new showroom.

Unfortunately they don't have the best reputation in town, although I've never actually met anyone who gets their bike serviced there and has any complaints, it's always been general perception and word of mouth that's done for them.

But Edinburgh did without a BMW dealer for a while, a Triumph franchise will pop up on the west coast soon enough.

Tempted to start one myself......

Hopefully Torquey T also saw a Blue 06 Tiger on the floor, as I've just bought one over the phone!

When I was looking at buying my Tiger (April/May) MCS couldn't have cared less, totally dissinterested!

Neil at Two Wheels on the other hand was great to deal with, he even let me loose on his own Tiger for 1/2 an hour as he didn't have a demo. That was fine until I remembered that his bike had panniers fitted and I was filtering between 2 lanes of stationary traffic on the Edinburgh bypass. Doh!!

Graeme.

If the bars will go through so will the panniers.......

It's when you have to twist the bars to get through a tight gap you might have problems.

I hadn't filtered on the Tiger till a few weeks ago when the M6 north of Brum was in its usual afternoon state and I found it nearly as good as my old Honda Dominator, panniers and all. It's just not quite as agile for the jink in front of a car to change filtering lane.

Blue Tiger arrived safe and well on Thursday. Impressed with the handling improvements vs the 2003 model. Looks great in blue too. Having seen big rick on the 07, I'm glad I got the last of the 06's!

I'm getting my Tiger from Two Wheels (only 1 more sleep :yayyy: ) in Edinburgh and I don't have a bad word to say about them, got my Deauville serviced there as did the previous owner. No problems. Eager to help with test rides - Tried a V-Strom, then a Sprint ST and finally the Tiger - best combination of the Sprint Engine with the Strom's riding position.

MCS dropping Triumph is a bit of a blow as they would be a hell of a lot closer and less awkward to get to but ach well, at least when through in Edinburgh you get to have a wee try of their demos while you are waiting on the bike getting serviced.
