I'm not going to swap. I'll take a test ride sure enough but I've got the bike I want now. At 40K on the clock I think it'll go for a few more years yet. The only thing I really want my current Tiger to do better is off road so, when the time comes my choice will NOT be the new Tiger but probably a KTM.

Although the new one looks ok and extra horses are always welcome, I'll not be trading in mine yet. It's not why I bought my 05 one in the 1st place. I'd miss the hand guards and the reduced fuel capacity would p**s me off too.. As with other owners I'm more tempted with the KTM as it does seem to be more in line with what I'm after due to its versitility. I'll take a test ride as soon as the Triumph dealer gets one in though.. :-D

I have a fairly new "06 Sprint that I'm in love with. But I gotta tell you that new Tiger would probably be the bike in my garage if it had existed six months ago.

The Sprints a great bike, but I've always wanted an Adventure bike with the long travel suspension, better crosswind protection, and the fully upright seating position. I started out on dirt bikes and guess I'll always just feel most at home on that type of bike. I've never gotten used to the bent over feel of sportier bikes. The Sprint isn't too bad, but it's nothing like the Tiger...

We have truly crappy freeways around here as well. The long suspension on the Tiger might be the answer. Problem is, the old Tiger was just a hair outside my comfort zone with regard to size. All the Adventure bikes were too big for what I was looking for in fact. The new Tiger looks to be about an half inch lower and has a narrower seat. I'm betting I could touch down just fine on that one.

It's the first bike of it's type that fits me without having to bolt on a bunch of mods. I'm gonna guess there's plenty like me around and I bet the new one sells pretty well for them. It's opened up a whole segment of the population that would never have considered an Adventure Type Bike.

Anyway, the new Cycle World features the new Tiger and I've been doing a lot of staring at it while watching TV with the Mrs. My Wife is giving me the fish eye because she knows what that means...

So to answer the question. If things continue on as they are and it tests as good as it looks then yeah, I'm gonna say I'll probably end up with one.

No i'll stick with my 02 thanks.

Spent too much time and money getting it just how i want and apart from that have you seen how high the pillion is going to be? I like the style of my old girl and although I think the new 1050 engine will be a blast I have a Daytonna in the garage for that sort of riding. Final reason for not buying one is they have no Roulette Green !!!!!!!

:???: ummmm no, not here. Past summer sold my Yamaha FZ1 (Fazer) which just sat in the garage. Really the Tiger has the least amount of mods done to any bike I've owned.

noivson ... I really droooooled over a 03-04 FZ-1, but got the Tiger due to what I felt was a more versatile bike.

There are used one's around but I am reluctant to pick up a second bike, no matter how good a condition, if I think it's just going to sit.

Since you sold your FZ-1 (Fazer) could you elaborate on the differences between the two?

I am not tired of my '06 Tiger, and am not planning to move to an '07. If I picked up another bike, it would be a Rocket, or a Speed Triple, or maybe a Daytona 675 (although I'm not sure I would like the riding position). Even if I did get another bike, I would just have to make room in the garage, because I'm not trading or selling mine.

TigerTales: Well the Yamaha is one great ride. Better brakes. 175 mile tank range. Comes to life easily. (mods) Heavier than true 'sport bikes'. I've seen 500 mile days, no problem. Ground the hero feelers around Deals Gap. Lots of wind noise. Great sound from aftermarket pipe. Hard pack and gravel in a pinch. Tiger is better suited for my riding now, Donking around in the country. Taking pictures. I'm over 50 and been riding for a good while. Been there, done that type.
