Right.

Tyre time (again). Bear in mind I have no inclination to go anywhere even slightly off road.

Done a lot of checking up on these, mostly amongst VFR owners as there's a very active forum. Rave reviews, especially in the wet, and wear excellent.

I know it's not a given that experience with one make/model of tyre/bike combination will transfer to another but at least Conti list these as a fitment for the Tiger, so some reassurance they're designed for the bike. GS owners also seem to appreciate them.

Got a pair for £147.95 delivered from roundandblack - an ebay shop for a dealer based in Dunstable which I thought was extremely reasonable.

Tyres going on next weekend with the 24k service.

I'll report back on initial findings next week, am hoping for some obvious differences from the Avons I've had. Can't complain about them but they were a semi off road tread so hoping for something a bit more planted.

Be interesting to see how long they last too. Personally, I find Tourances grippy enough and I appreciate being able to get 8000 miles from a rear. Anything giving less mileage means that I'm putting two rears on a year.

Yeah, I'm keen to see how they wear as well.

Though being a winter commuter I'm not fond of eaking out the last one or two thousand miles in rubbish weather and traffic conditions.

As many remind me, they're the only thing between you and the road, what price to keep that good and true ?

Anyway, won't be reporting on wear for a good 6 months hopefully.

Blacktiger,

I totally agree with you, never had a problem with Tourences and like the milage I get from them. I know a lot of people don;t like them but this summer managed to get both pegs down fully loaded in Switzerland, sounded great and caused a few smiles from a few sportsbikes riders who followed me down the mountain.

FifeTiger: I swiched to road tyres (Avon Azaro's) and they are great compaired to Tourances, the handling is so much better. To be honest any road tyre will be better.

I started with the Tourance's, then went to the Bridgestone 020's, I am now sticking with Bridgestone and had put on the new Battlewings, which are halfway between a road and the Giant Trailie tyre.

I suppose, when it comes down to it. I haven't had any trouble with any of them really???
