Thought it might be a good idea to have a new thread to park all the reviews and external links that will no doubt be appearing for the new 07 Tiger.

According to MCN, the new Tiger should be good for 140 to 150 miles between fill ups. :???: :???: :???: :???: :???:

I normally get 220 to 230 before the fuel light comes on.

Who is this new Tiger aimed at :???: Certainly not for the likes of me, who use it for touring as well as commuting and just enjoying.

I might just have to go and get an 06 model.

Could this be a ploy by Triumph to get the remaining 955's sold :???:

5.2 gallon capacity should yield a minimum of 225 miles per tank.

I wouldn't worry too much. Their figures are based on their riding techniques which involves much bouncing off the rev limiter. ALL the mags are the same. I've never EVER got a bike down to their mpg figures.
The tank is 20 litres which in old UK money is 4&1/2 gallons(ish). If they allow 4litres AFTER the light comes on that'll be 16 litres/3&1/2 gallons BEFORE the light. At 55mpg = 190 miles. Not too sad. I know my arse will be wanting a break by then.

Well actually got to sit on one as well today,Hmmmmmm if you ride a bike one up you'll be fine, two up??? my wife had a nightmare getting on and off,her actual words,'They've done the same to the Tiger as the ST Sprint OK so long as you don't want to travel any distance at any kind of speed.

For those who ride on their own, felt nice, any at dealers at the mo are pre production so a little rough round the edges, the bike looks a lot better in real life than it does in the photos,i'll be interested to ride it,cuz the motor will be a gem,but i don't see the bike being any good to me.

I'm with you m8. Most of my riding is done two up and my missus is only 5' 5". I chose the Tiger over the new ST because of the decent back seat, upright riding position, touring ability and luggage options (even prepared to put up with the 3/4 pannier).

What has the Triumph designer got against pillions these days? With the demise of the Trophy and now the current Tiger, Triumph have no serious competition to the likes of the Pan European, FJR, K1200, etc, etc.

Sure, the bike will be a great hit with road riders/soloists but I can't help but think that Triumph will be losing out without a proper tourer/multipurpose bike in its line up. As a half faired Speed triple the new Tiger is brilliant and I want one, however its lack of practicality for my main type of riding means that I will be looking at other models when the time comes to change my bike.

Chris,

Thanks for setting this thread up, it makes sense to have a single point of reference for the New Tiger thread.

I will make it 'Sticky' for the duration at the top of the forum list.

Cheers

Jim

Actually what i forgot to say, even when were on the road for a two week holiday all we take is a tank bag and a 50lt Givi top box with our waterproofs ontop of that,i don't do panniers and there's not a hope in hell of fitting a rack with a TB,and even less of the passenger getting on the bike!!!

Unless you are just riding from one England to the other in a single stretch. Or even to Scotland, for the sake of it. Wouldn'nt you want to sop every 150 miles or every 2-3 hours or so?

That way you can use the john, drink a bit of coffee and stretch. And be all the more alert for the next 150 miles
