Hi everyone, thought I'd introduce myself.

Having been a Triumph owner for the last 5 years (2 Daytona's) I decided to progress to something a little more comfortable in my advancing years....all 43 of them!

I'm waiting patiently for my '05 Tiger in British Racing Green, which I ordered on Saturday. I first rode a Tiger about 2 years ago, and was impressed with it's performance and handling (and of course I've got a soft spot for the 955 triple), now I've finally got round to making the plunge.

Got to go through the pain of running a new bike in again, but plan to do this in the first couple of days, as I've got a weeks holiday when I pick it up.

I'm planning a 2-up trip in October with my mate on his new Tiger. We're travelling on the ferry from Portsmouth to Bilbao, and plan to spend a week riding up to Cherbourg through the Pyrenees and the Massif Central. If anyone can recommend some good roads down there or knows of any informative websites, I'd be most grateful.

Many thanks

Kav

Welcome along to our world... I'm sure you wont regret your choice. Many have done the same thing, me included!

You say you are getting your '05 in British Racing Green?, i thought that it was roulette green, or have Triumph introduced the Racing Green recently ?

If it is the same colour as the centenary daytona it will look absolutley brilliant on a Tiger!!

You will really enjoy your trip. From my experience the roads you must try and ride.....(from my notes)

D918 - Col d'Aubisque from Laruns to Argeles-Gazost !
D921 - Col du Tourmai from Pierrefitte-Nestalas to Arreau (Massiff Region)
D618 - from Arreau to Bagneres De-Luchon
D618 - from Fronsac to St Girons
D618 - from St Girons to Tarascon (Absolutely flippin' brilliant fast twisties!!!!!!!!)
D32 - from Oust in a circuit back to Oust

Cheers

Jim

Thanks for the advice on the roads to try Jim, the D618 sounds great. Do you know what the weather will be like in October down there?

BRG is a new colour for the '05 model, I would have gone for the silver (of course!), but they're sold out for the rest of this year. If you want to check the colour out, there's an example in the Triumph Model photo album on this site. I think the green looks pretty cool with the new silver frame.

I notice that you arrange runouts from up your way. You mention that you head for the coast, would that be Southend or nearer Brighton?

Cheers

Gary

As a members of the UK Tigers group, we organise ride-outs all over the country. They run approximately every month (Winter is weather permitting). The last one i hosted here in Essex, but there are runs planned for the Brecon Beacons (meet at Swindon), Exmoor, West Wales.

We are looking for somebody who knows a good route in the Kent/Sussex/Hampshire area. Nick Hamilton who is the Laguna Motorcycles RAT pack leader is putting one together soon, but feel free to offer a route up.

We look to about 200 miles for the day with a nice lunch spot and tea stops etc.

We will be runnning down on the Ace Cafe re-union ride to Brighton in September, so whatever we will probably bump into you soon.

Brighton is not far for me so if you are stuck for some company for a ride-out, just let me know. There are quite a few Tigers now in the S.E.England area.

The U.K. Tigers Ride-outs are organised at:

uk_tiger_rides@yahoogroups.com

Cheers

I checked out the Uk_Tiger_Rideouts club and joined up. Looks like you have a lot of fun, hopefully be able to join up with you soon on one of the rides (just need to get some miles under my belt on the Tiger first!).
