Does anyone have any ideas for a removilbe back rest(sissy bar) that could put on a new Tiger. I know, I know who on earth wants to carry anyone but occiasionally I don't mind havin her with me. the Tiger Top Box looks nice but at $800 I am hoping to create something myself.

Hi Artboy,

check the thread over on the mods and boltons forum regarding Bill Mayer seats - if you look on their site they do a replacement seat w. possibility of removable back rest.

Rather than go the ludicrously expensive Tiger top box route I bought a top of the line Givi with excellent backrest for $350.

Thanks for your help, the Givi Top Box, backrest and adapter plate is exactly what I was looking for. I also got the mirroe extenders as I am tired of looking at myself. The Twisted Throttle is a great site for add ons.

You might want to slip over to
http://www.triumph-tiger.com/phpBB2/

then select Gear & Stuff ..... check the Shad top Box a Quebec'r has on his Tiger.

I couldn't quite bring myself to parting with all the money they want for a Triumph box, so I also went with the Givi with the backrest. Can't fault it !

I've used it on all sorts of roads and haven't noticed any diffrence with the box on or off. And i tend to load it up with my laptop and stuff for work for days on end.

Glad to hear that everyone loves the Givi - mine's fitted but I'm still waiting for the backrest. Going on the first real trip next weekend - hope the wife still likes it after 200 miles!

My local dealer sells the Triumph top box for $508 + tax. What are the Givi's selling for? Which model works best on an 06 Tiger? I looked at their website and was unsure which model would be best.

Also, does anyone know the capacity of the Triumph top box?

Thanks.

Looks like the corbin saddle with easily removable backrest is an option for someone less interested in a top box than a backrest and in upgrading the seat.
