Hi all
I know that this has probably been aswred 100's of time but what the hell!

Where can you get hold of the 'O' ring cruise controls.

I know they are a Caterpiller part, but does anyone have the part number and a supplier.

I am in Norfolk UK

Cheers
Ralph

First time I hear of that installation, please fill me in: is it an o-ring that fits between the handle and the extremity of the handle bar to hold constant throttle position during cruise. If so, I am interested.

Sorry Kennedy when you have been around the site for a while you forget that some people don't know all the features.
look at the very top of the page you will see a button with a picture of a camera, pressing this will take you to the Tiger Trails album where we store pictures of mods and things, click on the bars album and you will see the photo of the O ring and some details of the part No.

have a look around this area, lots of good tips, tricks and information.

this is the photo

A question that I haven't found the answer to: Does this part work with the heated grips. It looks like it should, but thought I'd check . . . .

Works well, I spaced the end weight, out single washer. A bit easier to place O-ring.

How does that work then ? Just jams the free play enough to prevent the throttle spring shutting the throttle grip ?

Presumably not tight enough for you not to be able to shut the throttle in a hurry ?

Orings are used all over the place, but most people don't encounter them...

The Oring that works well on my ST and should also work well on a Tiger is a #321 Oring.

3 = the diameter in 1/16"'s of the cord the Oring is made from
21 = the number of 16th's the Inside diamter of the Oring.

Most any hydraulics shop and large Automotive shop or truck shop should have a selection of Orings to choose from and at much less cost than the 3-4 bucks the Cat dealer will charge.

I paid $.33 for mine
