I've had several attempts at getting a blown headlight bulb out of the right hand light but so far I can't even get a grip on the robber cover! Just took it to Metropolis at Vauxhall, London and they all scratched their heads for 10 minutes and then admitted that you might have to take the console off. Anybody know the secret? :???:

The secret is.......you have to take the fairing off! There is no short cut, unless you have an infant that is handy with an allen key :-)

Seriously, it is probably one of the most awkward Jobs on a Tiger!. Fairing off, which is really easy, then undo the three allen bolts that hold the light units in place and drop the whole thing forward just to change the bulbs!

A 5mm and an 6mm Allen key, plus a flat blade screwdriver is all you need to do the job, just a piggin' nuisance really

Cheers

Jim

Jim,

Thanks! I had a '96 Sprint previously and you could just get the bulbs out without dismantling the front end, I thought things would have improved in 8 years!
Apart from this problem, the tiger is a great bike, first time I've enjoyed commuting down the A13!!!!!

Cheers!

Dave.

Ahhhh, the A13!, that's my neck of the woods. I am down in Basildon.

The Tiger is great on that loony highway, i think it is the sheer presence that does it? drivers have to look up to see you and when you ride with lights on they are right at mirror level on a car, which is ideal!

Any problems getting the fairing off, drop me a p.m. and i'll help out if i can

Cheers

Jim

Jim,

I live in Grays. Also ride a silver tiger matching top box and Dennis the menace lid, give me a toot if you blast past me anytime!
Looks like I've got a weekend of dropping alan keys and cursing ahead of me. I've just taken delivery of a Cee Bailey's 4.5 x 6" replacement screen... I'll let you know how I get on.

Cheers!

Dave.

hiya Dave
I live in Dartford and travel to work at Tilbury Docks every day on my new Silver 05 model, rain or shine.
Chances are that at sometime we'll pass & nod on the dock road or the A13. I'll look out for a silver menace when commuting.
best of luck with the lightbulb mate

Brian

Dave, Brian

Flippin' eck, Three silver's in a 20 mile radius....is the world ready for this!?

Have a read of the June 20th ride out string.....Silver's are seriously under-represented!. just up the road for all of us?

Good luck with the screen anyway.

Jim
