Right chaps.

I had planned to do some touring up north last weekend in May but of my two touring chums, one has packed in biking having ridden round Scotland in a day non stop, the other has a family illness.

Plan was to go up to Wester Ross where the roads are silky smooth, there are no hedges or walls and you can see for miles and the scenery is stunning. Was up there a few years ago and swore at the time to go back and spend some time exploring rather than riding through.

Itinerary is negotiable, anybody interested in joining in for all or part of the trip let me know ?

me & my dad was up there last week saturday 6th to wednesday had great weather & loved every minute

was Scotland that alien to him that it caused him to pack in biking :razz: or was it just that he decided after having ridden in gods country that everywhere else just paled into mediocrity?

No, wife, two kids, banned for speeding a while back, few fatals in the news including 'our' recent loss.

Admitted his buzz was from speed and that sportsbike baiting was the only fun he got but was just too dangerous. Wife asked him to give up.

1000 miles in a day - I sent him that post from the guy who went round Arizona and he wanted to see if he could do it round Scotland. The distance was just right, if not the roads.

Anyway, 50 odd views and I'm still going solo. C'est la vie.

Btw - Malc, great pics, some familiar sights. Your dad and a GS, figures :razz:

then I guess he was right to give up - too dangerous on public roads. Mind you he could have gotten a track bike and just did track days!

The town is ullapool & the switchback road is the 1 & only baelach na baa pass (pass of the cattle) to applecross from loch kishorn.

Its great view & a great road
