The long time members of this site will remember me asking this before, but I never got a definitive answer that everyone agreed on, so I'm trying again:

From the Datatool Veto Evo alarm / immobiliser manual:
Quote:
even if you read nothing else
READ THIS!
Make sure your installer advises you of the location and
type of the in-line fuse, if the fuse fails, your motorcycle
will be immobilised until it is replaced.
ALWAYS CARRY A SPARE FUSE
Make sure your installer advises you of the location of
the Protective Trigger Switch.
My system is either factory or at least dealer installed (can tell as the fobs are Triumph branded). However, my local garages have not been able to tell me where the inline fuse is - can someone shed some light on this? In the past the answer seemed to be "there isn't one", can anyone confirm or deny this?

I was told by my dealer that it uses the bike's fuse. However, this seems to mean I can't set the PIN as described in the manual :???:

You will find that they have used one of the fuses in the fusebox. And before you ask. No I don't know which one as the installers seem to change it from bike to bike, I found out which one it was by trial & error. there are only 10 fuses so it shouldn't take long to work it out. You will probably find you have the engine management light on by the time you stop fiddling but it goes out after a few runs.

Iain

You set up the pin by removing the appropriate fuse from the fuse box (see comment above) It gave me a severe case of frustration sorting mine out but I did manage it.

Have fun tinkering.

You mean you weren't to start with? The PIN allows you to set / disable the alarm without the fob by switching ignition on and off and counting flashes from the alarm LED when there is a full moon.
