Hi, just got myself a Triumph Tiger 955i on an 04 plate. Enjoying it a lot although a few tiny niggles as with any bike.
Im in Southwest England and moved to the tiger from my Yam XJR1200 trike as can finaly get back on 2 wheels now affter a few years not able to ride one.

A few questions i would like to ask.

1) Im told its an 05 model on a 04 plate. it has the new wheels and grafixs. is there many other diffs in the bike?

2) reason i ask the above is im going to be looking for crash bars and rear hugger, also want to try to get a little extra power and a little less snatchy (first injection bike i have owned) ordered a K and N filter and will also soon get a O2 block. possably a end can to but not for a while.

so realy interested in any simple mods to do or places to get the above stuff cheap. seen jack lillys (where i brought my bike from) and triumphtiger-onlione.co.uk but looking for others.

Great bike realy enjoy it, now just need to get set up to me so expect loads of newbie stupid questions
Oh and do you guys have any meets, shows, rideouts etc?

Ghostbiker,

Welcome along, good to see you here. You have chosen well getting a Tiger !

Your bike was marketed as the '05 but was released in 2004. It has a different swinging arm to the earlier models and you will need to bear this in mind when ordering your rear hugger i think.

The O2 sensor seems to work for some and not so well for others. I personally swear by it, it transformed my Tiger totally.

The K&N will help it breath a little more easily, and the end can will help even more. You can go a bit further if you feel adventurous by cutting out the shelf inside the airbox, this increases the air volume and works well.

Live with the bike for a while before you leap in, it can be an expensive business if your'e not careful

Enjoy

Thx for the offer of the rideout, but affter a few year break from 2 wheels for 3 ill stick a little more local, knocked up 100 today trying to get a feel for it again.

O2 sensor seems cheap so ill deff give it a try, and thx loads for confirming what i suspected with the hugger. now just to find a good color coded one for my orange tiger

before by-passing systems, are you sure the bike iss et up right. Snatchiness can be because the tune isnt loaded right, chain too tight (Tiger likes to be at the loose end of the scale) or the free play in the throttle is not enough

Welcome to the world of Tigers

Welcome.

There's a local rodeout from Portbury 23 April. See here for details:
http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/...guid=155396478
This group does organised Tiger rides throughout the year.
Richard at Fowlers is also trying to get the RAT group based at Fowlers a little more active, so have a look at their web site for details. I'm doing a factory visit with them next month.

cheers,
Alan

:hammer hi i also have an 06 tiger .love it (mostly) but its far more snatchy at lower speeds than i would: have expected E.G wont run steadily at30 kph or up to70 sounds like mixture/? dealer is to retune next service but says the efi retunes itself after a few moments of different riding styles? apart from that ,runs great is fast and smooth . I thought after run in it would be better (6000km now ) any comment? Also i ride a lot at night .; Does anyone else think the stock headlights are *****? am i expecting too much? cheers clawdballs

NOW I JUST HAVE TO STOP THE FORKEN FORKS KNOCK`IN!!!!

Hey clawdballs, did you have to make any upgrades to the electrical system to accommodate those 90/110W bulbs? relays, fuses? Any problems with overheating the headlight?
I was thinking about it, but someone on this forum said it doesn't help much, because the poor lights are because of the reflector and optis. Somewhat makes sense, because 2x60W high beams should be great. Yet we all know it stinks..

About mods - Givi topbox is awesome for commuting and two-up backrest.

Sheepskin buttpad!!! I just bought a hide, 50 USD, cut it and bungee corded it on. Such a difference!!! Did 450 miles yesterday 2-up, and no soreness.
