Ok - I am selling the stock hardcases off my 05 Tiger. I want to go ahead and remove all the mounting hardware. I see the two big bolts under the passenger seat for the luggage rack and the rear plastic, but how do you get the bolts out that are sealed in the luggage rack? Don't you need to remove the luggage rack and the rear plastic so you can remove the rear brackets of the sidecase mounting plate - or am I way off base.

Any help (especially with pics) would be greatly appreciated!

TIA,
Scott

This is how.

Remove seats.

take out little black plug things on the rack.

Unscrew the long bolts underneath the little black things (8mm socket i think)

Unscrew the large bolts which hold the 'feet' of the rack which are either side of the seatind lock mechanism.

Take off rack, the short struts which hold the rack up and rear fairing off.- if you have an alarm the trigger switch may make it go off, just hold it down with some insulation tape.

Look at how the rails are held on, its quite simple and ingenious. Using an allen key on the top of the bolt and a socket driver for the nut unscrew each one then pull out the short plates which will become obvious.

use a soft rubber mallet or similiar to un hook the rails.

easy

remember to take off the supports on the passenger footpegs as well.
