I will be doing my own servicing etc on my Tiger now it's out of warranty, but the price of the valve shim tool is a bit steep for something I'll only use once every couple of years.

I wondered whether there were others around the West Midlands (UK) who might be interested in going shares on one.

It might be worth thinking about other tools as well, eg steering head bearing spanners.

Great idea, I'm in Sutton Coldfield. My Tiger is just out of warranty so would be interested in sharing tools etc. As yet don't have anything that is Tiger specific but I'm sure I will be purchasing soon.

Definitely interested.

My 2003(53) is coming up to 21k, and the next service (24k) is a big'un!

I'm pretty mechanically minded and am happy to tackle most things bikewise, but valve clearances with shims is one of the few activities I've not yet had a go at. I did the locknut ones on my GPz500 but that bike's kinda "expendable" if I had got it chronically wrong

Looking good so far - we seem to have four of us here (plus a couple of other possibles from places I can't mention.....)

We'll leave it open for a little while longer then perhaps I could pm people and we could sort out some details.

Wasn't one of you guys I saw on Bristol Street a couple of nights ago was it? Looked like a 2001-2004 955i, possibly in black, with a personalised registration beginning with "R"?

I was on my ratted GPz500 so you probably wouldn't have noticed me anyway
