I have just been sorting out our annual jaunt for 2006. Me and my chums are off again to terrorise France (well, make them laugh anyway  ) We are riding down to Clermont Ferrand and using that as a base to explore the Central Massif and Volcanes regions. Hooning about in the mountains and hopefully having some excellent ride-outs.

We hope to cover about 2,500 miles or so in the week we are away, good food, good wine and some good laughs are guaranteed. 6 of us going (2 Tigers, 2 Daytonas, 1 Sprint RS and the odd one out, a tricked up Aprilia Falco).

What plans have you folks got?, any good trips planned for 2006 ?
care to share them with us ?

Look forward to hearing what you Tiger Tamers are doing to fly the flag

Cheers,

Jim

Sounds excellent Jim, don't miss out on the fantastic Gorges du Tarn - some of the best riding I've ever had.

Have just sorted holidays ourselves, this year looks like Hull - Zeebrugge, down through Germany - Black Forest to be more specific, up into Switzerland for playing in the Swiss / Italian / French alpine passes, before returning up through eastern France - possibly dropping by the Central Massif.
Early stages yet, not sure if it can all be done in two weeks, but it certainly looks like a trip to look forward to....

I'm off to India at the end of the month.

Sorry, no Tigers involved.

Some Royal Enfield like thing - with all the levers the wrong way round

I'll be joining the group at the Dragon Raid in North Carolina. I'm looking forward to meeting some of you.

I'm determined to make this year a memorable one. Some ferrys and hotels booked but lots of planning still to complete:

June: France Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, and on to the Alps playground via the Black Forrest, home through central France to Cherbourg ferry.

July: Wales, Holyhead/Dublin, up the east coast of Ireland over the mountains of Mourne into NI, continue to follow coast up around Giants Causeway, Bushmills etc. Back to Belfast and Stranraer ferry to mainland.

August: Plymouth/Santander, a play in the Picos de Europa, zigzag down to Pyrenees to Tossa de Mar, then coast road north into France. 1 week stay in Perpignan area. Then around the Med coast to Nice, Cannes, Monaco (GP streets) then head north to Grenoble, Chamonix, continue north into Vogses area/Rhine valley and home across northern France.

Lots of UK stuff too. Now, where's my GPS.........

Changed the Ducati ST2 for a Tiger specifically for the trip below that I have wanted to do for some time.

Cherbourg to Caen, Nantes, Niort. Then on to Oradour Sur Glane, travel through the Dordogne before spending a few days in Barcelona. Orange, Chambery (just before the Alps) then on to Rome (3 day stop) via the West Coast of Italy. Monte Cassino before heading up the East Coast and onto Salzburg, Austria. Head for Berlin through Czech in time for the World Cup final although I am more interested in the beer rather than the football. Finally ending up in Bruges before heading home.

Pyrenees, Alps and Dolomites. A month away and probably 4.5 to 5k miles. Leisurely pace and take in a few sites.

Then off to North Holland in late September.

This summer's adventure.....
Tucson, AZ - Merritt Island, FL - Youngstown, OH - Thunder Bay, Ontario - Arrow Rock, MO - Tucson, AZ.
MapQuest says that's about 6335 miles or 10,200 kms.
I need to be in Youngstown on May 29 for a wedding - not mine - the rest is up to me. I see this being a 2-3 week adventure. I plan to fit some Blue Ridge Parkway and the Mackinac Bridge into the trip.
Any joiners anywhere along the route?
