Hi all.
Thought I'd drop a post to introduce myself and ask a couple of quick questions.
I picked up my 2002 Roulette Green Tiger last weekend and haven't stopped grinning yet! :-D I've previously had a Bandit 1200 and VFR750 and must say that the Tiger has the grin factor of the Bandit AND the comfort of the VFR, what more could I ask for?
Now for the questions:
Fuel gauge - This seems to be a bit erratic. Filled her up on Monday (after the light came on), showed a quarter of a tank on Tuesday. Hmmm, half a tank showing on the way home Tuesday night then back down again etc etc.
Is this common or do I have a bit of an issue? For info, the readings were when the bike was on the flat.
Manuals - I tried to get a Haynes manual for her but they don't seem to do one. I don't fancy the Triumph version for £55 so does anyone know of a decent manual at a half decent price.
Accessories - Currently working on my wishlist (crash bars, tank cover, Pro bolts, new screen, gel seats etc etc, you know the score), but at the prices listed it's going to take years of b'days and Christmases to achieve it. Anyone know of reasonably priced outlets for Tiger bits and bobs? Probably not, but worth a go anyway.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions, keep the wind in your hair and the flies in your teeth.

Tiger Trev,
Nice to see another man of Kent on the Tiger Site!!, Would seem that you may have an issue with the fuel gauge, for your info you should be getting around 190 miles to the tank obviously depending on how much of the berries your giving her. But to start off with just have a look around and make sure that all the connections are secure around the tank.
As for the add ons well the lists just go on and on. I have spent a fortune but you can get loads of stuff off e-bay ( my new corbin seat was just 125 quid) as for servicing parts try this site http://www.triumphtiger-online.co.uk/ I find them cheaper than Triumph and the service is excellent.
For general info try the Haynes tiger 955 manual, there are suttle differences but for the majority of the time it's a good tool , I also have a cd which you can get off e-bay which is great for giving you part no's and great pics for stripping down. hope this helps a little and my best bit of info for you is to ask on this site, thses guys know there Tigers better than anyone. :-D

welcome to the fold.
Fuel guage sounds like the float is sticky or something.
Haynes are at this moment in process of producing a new manual specifically for the 955 Tiger. Last time I was in contact with them (Sept/Oct last year) they were expecting it to be ready this year sometime.

Many thanks for the responses. I have e-mailed Haynes to ask if they were bringing out a manual for the 955i and will let you know what they say when I have their response.
In the meantime I'll get the fuel gauge looked at and start saving my money for all the bits I 'need' to personalise my new baby.
Took her out for a run this morning and when I got back I had a lovely ride down an unmade road to Cliffe pools, about a mile and a half from where I live. Isolated and barren, the bike handled the rough track well and I even took a couple of photos of her in this 'barren wasteland'. I'll try to download them soon and post them on this site. Great place for a picnic 'away from it all'. Only a few twitchers to avoid. Grrrrreat (as Tony the Tiger would say).

Hey Trev !!
I've had my 02 in Roulette Green for about a week as well AND I've just come from a VFR as well, spooky or what.
Uncannily I had a bit of an issue with my fuel gauge as well, it just stopped working. Has been a bit wet, and filthy here lately so took the connector off the tank - if I've got the right one it's on the left just forward of the seat and gave it a good spray of WD40.
There's also a two wire connector hanging from under the tank on my bike, again a liberal spraying of WD40.
I've washed and re-WD40'd the same parts this weekend and have had no trouble with the gauge since.
Worth checking for dirty connections ?

Thanks Fife, I'll give that a go just as soon as I can stop riding her (about December?).
Spooky about the 'Tiger twinning' as well!

Hi newbie (I still am)
The fuel gauge is probably something todo with some 'rust' on the sensor in the tank. I have come across this some time ago. Do a google on the matter and it will come back with. Get the thing out of the tank (don't ask me how :-D ) clean and put back again. Hey presto working gauge
Keep grinning; it will get only better!
