Every morning I find some coolant drops under my 1999 Tiger. As far as I can see the coolant is coming out of the head gasket. My dealer told me that it should be replaced, which is a rather expensive repair. Does anyone have experienced this problem? :???:

Unfortunately if the coolant is coming from that area a gasket is what it's going to be. Look on the bright side, at least the leak happened externally rather than internally where a lot more damage could have resulted.

At this moment the motor is at the dealer to be repaired. I will keep you informed about the real cause of this problem

The results of the repair actions:
In some early 1999 Tiger engines the cilinder sleeves or inserts could be out of tolerance. Therefore the head gasket wouldn't fit correctly. After tooling the cilinder sleeves (minus 0.05mm) and re-assembling the engine the coolant leakage dissapeared.

That's good news Harry! Are Triumph going to pay some of the cost of this considering it was a manufacutring problem?

Yes, they promised to take a significant part of the costs but my dealer is working on a final settlement.
So up to now, a positive customer response.
