Ive now done 2000m on my 06 tiger but cant seem to get on with these anakees that are fitted as standard.
They are really good in the dry but when it gets a bit greasy or wet they seem to loose their feel Im off up scotland in may & expecting some wet weather so I am seriously tempted to swap for tourances before I go & save these anakees for the summer next year

Whats your preference??

What makes you think it will be wet in Scotland in May?

:hihi: :-D

I've only had Tourances on my bike, but I think they're pretty good in the wet, lots of feel and give me confidence. Obviously being dual purpose, grip is compromised slightly (IMO) but I find they give me enough.

I think the Anakees are marginally better than the Tourance if you're riding hard. But the Tourance will certainly give you miles more wear than the Anakees.

If its for on road fit Pilot Roads, if you plan on offroad I think the Tourances are best at this moment.

I find the Anakees ok in greasy/wet conditions - ridden about 800 miles in January on very slimy & salty welsh roads. My previous tyres were Bridgestone 010's on a Daytona so I'm perfectly happy. Will probably go to 020s when time to change.

You keep going on about your pilot roads but when are you going to realise that for the money you have thrown at them and for the milage your going to get out of them they just aint worth the expence, plus it's not the tyre it's the rider, check out the thread with the tiger pilot with his knee down on Tourences !!!! :-D

The pilots cost me no more than Tourances

Mileage will not be as good but as long as its decent I dont care, cos grip and handling are miles better.

As to being able to get a knee down? Who cares. most of us wouldnt even attempt it on the tiger, hell I never tried on my TT600 (there is a school of thought that says its actually slower)

Have you tried the Pilots on a Tiger? If not how can you comment?

Another can of worms here.

I would advise you to stick with your Anakees, in my opinion much better tyre than the tourances. I have them fitted to my current Tiger & had them on my last one too, I ditched the set of Tourances that came on the new bike because they literally fell to pieces, big cracks in the rubber almost down to the canvas. still waiting on Triumph to reply to my request for compensation & explanation. I may be a bit biased in my opinion but I can only speak as I find. I also feel far more confident on the Anakee, wet or dry & I drive on Scottish roads 12 months of the year. I might try the Pilot Roads next change but I will see when the time comes.

As I have said before there are as many opinions on tyres as there are riders so no doubt others feel differently than I do, so run what you are comfortable with but I will say that if you put Tourances on watch for cracks at the root of the tread blocks.

you should be checking for cracks irrespective of brand!

I do understand where you are coming from though as any problem tends to stay with us and puts us off long term if not for life.

Bid D

Have heard reports before of people finding large cracks in the Tourence Tyres and always thought that it may be that it's due to people leaving there bikes in the gararge over winter but obviously this do's not apply to your case and so I can only say I must be very lucky as I have never had a problem in the three sets I have used.
