Funny that i don't recall anyone talking about a 128hp motor, more a case of people didn't like the idea of quick steering and sticky tyres!!they'll sell e'm like hot cakes matey!!!,KTM's for offroaders,BMW 1200's for the dreamers and the new Tiger for those that are honest with e'm selves, although i have to say i don't think the back end is the end product.

I also have my doubts about how the pictures were taken and with who's consent, the building and fence give the game away very convenient!!!!,both Triumph and the comic are playing a good game.

Winger,

Wake up mate I think you've smelt the alcopops too early this evening. It looks a piece of*****, it ain't no Tiger and to be honest I don't know what it's suppose to be. If this is the nearly finished product then I'm with sofaloafer.

It looks as if Triumph have given the Touring Trailie market up for good as this will never replace the Tiger as a top notch touring two up tool.

Still would like to see one of these so called New Tigers flash bye me though, it's amazing how wide my 02 can be !! :-D :-D

I think that Triumph are playing the game and using these 'exclusive spy shots!' to dip their toes in the water. I think the frame, engine, forks and swingarm are definates....the rest, i believe is up in the air and will remain so until the final bike is revealed.

The thought of 128 hp smooth 1050 engine with sorted upside down bouncers, and radial brakes in a tighter chassis, and about 30 or kilos trimmed from it's bulk will make it handle and fly! I think it is almost a given that it will do both of the above. But it is the aesthetics and intended use of the bike that will keep the jury out...possibly for ever.

It is certainly going to be controvertial no matter what, and whatever we think, technologically, the Tiger was due an overhaul, and the markets change. Triumph will no doubt have a rationale for this overhaul that may well conflict with the majority of views here. They may even say....you want a tourer....get a Sprint ST, you want a multi purpose road bike then the Tiger is for you ?

Who knows ?? None of us...... interesting stuff indeed ......

Just my thoughts.

True. We don't even know that it will be a Tiger. Other publications say other things about the same vehicle. There are people in the Daytona forum absolutely convinced it's the Second Coming of the Big Daytona. Who can tell?

In the days when Triumph did a mock up, sent the moulds to Acerbis in Italy, they made a prototype sent back to Triumph etc etc, thats all stopped now, cuz the molding plant is on site and they can do anything.

The bike in todays comic is already different from the one that was in the other week

Somewhere recently I saw the sales figures for last year. The BMW R1200GS sold 1980 bikes the Tiger was around 590 bikes and the Multistrade??? wasn't to be seen. I think the BMW sold more than ALL the Multistrade types put together.
My point is that if Triumph go away from the "Dual-Sport" market they'll be loosing a lot of sales.
I can see that with the BMW thing, a lot of those buyers are on a "badge" mission. But they also like the chunkey off-road image AND the ability to go down a dirt track if they want.
Look at the US market. They have a lot of dirt roads and the members of here and other forums say they want dirt road ability. So, if Triumph go the Multistrade route, I think they've taken the wrong road.

Well someone's going to be right and the others going to be wrong!!!,i have to say i beg to differ,i've had loads of people who have seen the pictures and been very interested, the traillie image thing is what they want to avoid, german companys have already jumped on the band wagon with various SM GS 1200's

Two questions i get when people see mine, did you build it and how much did it cost, and always get the same answer!!! Gulp!! we live in a gimme society i'm afraid a ready made version is what people want, the down side being it'll fairly sanitised because they'll alter the head angle for the 17" front wheel
