Anyone got any 1/4 mile times on a Tiger?

9.83 but closer to sea level I'm sure it would do better.

9.83 seems a bit optomistic for the TIger. I havn't actually run mine but it seems like it would be lucky to do low 11's.

Yes, that was of course a joke, but I'll let you know what it will really do at a mile altitude when I take it to the track this spring.

Good looking forward to the results. BTW, when running the 1/4 mile, is the start pretty much all done with the clutch?

I used to take my Norton to the strip once a year just for a base line. To launch that thing basically was lay down on the tank bring it up to about 5,000 load up the clutch (to get out the slack) then drop it. Things happened really fast in that 1st 60 feet. The tire would break loose, the front end would come up about a foot as it hooked up then it was time to hit 2nd at about 60mph. I was absolutely counting on the tire breaking loose. I don't think that is how it would go on the Tiger. When I've seen sport bikes run at the strip it appears that they use the clutch instead of the tire to get themselves going. May be I'm just chicken sh$t.

Can't say yet about the Tiger. On my S3, it's clutch control or throw the dice on how to crash. If you dump the clutch at some midrange RPM, it's either going to land on your chest or smoke the tire and go sideways. The trick is to get the clutch out as quickly as possible without breaking traction or wheelieing while staying in the power band. I'm just quoting Ricky Gadsen. If you want to know how to dance, watch Fred Astair, eh?

I think the "Bike" and "two" test results are believable compared to other bikes with relative power to weight ratios: I recollect about 3.8, 0-60 mph, and about 12.3 - 12.4 et at 110 - 111 mph, 1/4 mile. IMHO these are fast times for any road vehicle and especially for a comfortable and versatile bike like our Tiger.
