Im looking at purchasing 04 tiger where on bike do you look for date of manufacture.

Lots of the components will have a date marked on them which will give a clue to the approx build date.
The easiest one to find is under the pillion seat on the ECU. Mine shown in the picture is dated 22/10/04.
I actually took delivery of this bike from the dealership in mid November04

On the US versions there is a sticker on the frame, at the head stock, which has the VIN, tire pressure info and MM/YY of manufacture...

i found a thread on here (i have lost it now),where you can join R.A.T for free and you input the vin no. of your bike and it tells you its year of manufacture.

One needs to distinguish between date of manufacture and model year. Just as with cars, they're not necessarily the same. The date of physical manufacture will be on the sticker, while the model year is encoded in the VIN (tenth character, IIRC).

easiest way is call triumph (there is a sticky with contact details) give them the vin number and not only will they give the details you require but could also tell if any recall work has not been done!
