Hi
I have to put on some new tyres somewhere in April. The Torance are just good enough; they will have some 14000km on them by then.
The shop I do most business with have a new offer : the Bridgestone Battle Wing. Does anybody have any comment on these. They seem to be a new intro.
Thanks
Wim

Battlewings have been available for a long time (unless these have been modified somehow).

Any comparisons I've read always placed the Tourances top BUT each to their own.

If you only do roadwork on the Tiger, why not try some proper road rubber. You will be amazed!

Hi David
Thanks for the input. It's just the offer the dealer made on the Bridgestone - eur 250 for front en back tyre . Just the Tourance backtyre would have cost eur 190 alone.

That's about the price I paid for my last tyre change on the TDM i had before the Tigre

WW

p.s. I seems that this is a 'new' version

it only cost me about €300 for the front and back Pilot Roads fitted and balanced! (€165 for the rear and €140ish for the front)

Maybe you need a quick trip across the border!

PS that bit on the german site was just copied froma Bridgestone site. I remember reading that waaaay back!

I am waiting for a pair to come in at the moment. I am expecting delivery any day now. The 'New' Battle Wing replaces the 'Trail Wing'. They have been available for about 6-8 months now in mainland Europe, UK has only just started getting stocks of them.

I will let you know what they are like....hopefully in a week or two ?

Serpico,

Have a look in the Tiger 'Mods and bolt ons' forum, there is a thread going on there at the moment about the Battle Wings....

Had a chat with a bloke today who'd been out riding his Tiger together with a Varadero rider. Apparently, the Tiger had a very slight advantage on the twisties, which he put down to the Bridgestones. He believed that if the Vara had had Bridgestones as well, they'd have been very evenly matched.
Food for thought here, bearing in mind that the Vara is quoted at 93HP and heavier than the Tiger..........
Seems like I've bought myself one heck of a bike
Can't wait til you come up our way, mate :-D
