Mine have 2500 miles on them and look as good as new, certainly makes a change from 010s on the Daytona.Anyway we're off to Spain in May and will probably do about 2500 miles. So if I can get 8000 miles from a pair of tyres then I can do 3000 miles before we go (which is probanly about right) and still get the Pyrenees trip on this set.If less than I will have to change tyres before the trip to make sure they last.I might try 020s which used to last about 6000 miles on the Sprint although I'm told they are expensive for the Tiger due to the odd wheel sizes (compared to 17" which is the most popular fitment).

John:
I've gotten about 6000 miles (down to about 2mm in the center) on my rear Anakee (it has a rather rage flat spot as most of my riding is commuting). The front looks really good and should go another 4000 to 6000 miles.

Replaced my rear at 8000 miles with a Tourance. She's got 12,000 miles now, and the front Anakee looks good for at least another 2000 miles. Of course, it's in the air quite a bit, so doesn't wear as fast!
I'm anxious to go to both 'street' tires, as I don't go off road much.

Hi John,
I was in the similar position to you last summer when I had close on 5500 miles on my Anakees before setting out on a 3000 mile trip. I decided to change the rear before I went, to avoid maybe searching for a dealer abroad. The front looked fine and turned out to be good for 13000 miles! which I changed before Christmas. And now the rear's looking ready for a change again soon!
The Tourance on my previous Tiger were definately harder wearing than Anakees with the rear being good for 10k. Some say the Anakee being softer gives more grip, but I've found there's not a lot in it.

If I get to around 6000 miles before the trip I will definitely change the rear, although this would mean another Anakee. Most punctures happen towards the end of a tyre's life and it's not worth the risk when abroad. The tyre seems fine but I would have liked to try something different and always a matched pair.Apart from a couple of big trips a year most of my mileage is weekend blasting so grip is probably more important to me than longevity.Having had sportsbikes I've gotten used to changing tyres every 4000 miles, which costs a lot of money.I would be very happy with 6000 miles from a rear tyre.

How do you get so many miles?
I use Anakees on my Tiger 955i cast wheel model. I can't get more than 4500 miles on the back and 10,000 on front. I wouldn't say i have an aggressive style bit neither am i a super gentle. I live in Ireland and the roads are very abrasive to say the least. How much does road surface affect tyre wear?

It's time for me to change out my original Anakees on my 06 Tiger 955i. I've gotten 12,000 miles out of the rear tire and still have tread on the front tire. This has been with mostly two up riding. I'm thinking of trying the Pilot Road 2.

I put 11000 kms. on my original rear before I left on a long trip. I figure I could have safely got another 2000 out of it. My front had 17500 km when I replaced it.

24,000 km from a set of OEM Anakees, mostly commuting, some two up and the occasional off road foray.
I do however, ride like an old woman.... but I can vouch for the mileage.
My current set of Tourance have only done 14,000km and I'll be replacing them soon.

Tyre life
original front still going at 8500 miles, rear replaced at 8000 (nearly 5000 miles two up motorway touring) the rear squared off quite badly.
Oringinal front pads still in just replaced rears.
