Welcome to the Tiger Forum !! everyone has there own idea of whats good and whats not, also i think more detail of what kind of roads you`re most likely to ride, dirt, tar or a mix of both.

Happy Tigerin !!

Well thanks to my stupidity I had back surgery a few years back so I am really limited to paved roads. Well thats what I tell my wife. HEHE The Metzelers are good but they seem squirrelly at times then again this is my first bike like this. I love it I have actually ride it alot more than my others. I want to get a new one and pass this one to my wife. Thanks

Welcome!
I use my Tiger for mostly road riding, with a bit of dirt roads thrown in. The stock Tourance tires work for both well after you get used to the "squirrel" effect (I personally blame this on the soft forks as much as anything else) but if you have the hard compound version of the tire, one nice side effect not often mentioned is longevity (12,000 miles give or take) assuming you turn some corners to even up the wear, and avoid long hot superslab riding. They are remarkably sticky in the wet for such a long lasting tire. They lose stickiness in extreme cold, however. overall a great tire, no surprise they are OEM on BMW gs as well. Also, a quick cheap handling fix is to get stiffer fork springs and thicker fork oil. Brakes and tires suddenly seem to work better.

If you're going to spend your time on paved roads, I'll also vote for the Pilot Roads. Probably not the best road tire around, but so far the best available for the Tiger. I did, however, follow some increasingly poor roads today, and ended up in wet, muddy, dirt roads down in the hollows, and the Pilot Roads would not be my choice under those circumstances. My second choice would be the Michelin Anakkees, especially if I were to be venturing off the paved road very often.

I us ethe roads cause thats where I spend all my time on the bike.

If I wanted dual road I would stick with the Tourances. They were not bad tyres just for the riding I do the Roads are better.

So far I would say the Roads are pretty good road tyres. Bear in mind these are sport/touring not sport so they aint going to do as well as BT10 or equivalent but they should last a hell of a lot longer!
