Triumph adventure boots
Hey guys, I have not posted on the tiger section in a little while. I picked up a Daytona and have been working on it to bring it back to life. I just picked up some Triumph adventure boots and thought I would do a quick video. I was a little disappointing in the difference in the boots than what Triumph showed on there site and the seller from ebay. Did I get an older version or is it the newer version. Great boots though. BTW I have become a real Triumph fan.

Thanks SDuke. Nice review. I would be very interested to find out if they ventilate well. I find most boots to be too hot, even in cool weather.

Tri-Tex is the waterproof membrane (like Goretex) not their equivalent of Thinsulate which is an insulating material.

Don't mean to be critical, but it shows the importance of good lighting when doing these.
Boots look quite sturdy though.

Any update on how you like the boots? I am in the market for some boots and am considering these. Looking for something I can use for everyday riding as well as some dirt/sand. Must be comfortable and easy to walk in. I like stopping for coffee often haha.

The Triumph Adventure Boots are all you ask for as far as being good from every day riding as far as dirt/sand. It has good grip in dirt, gravel and sand.
The Adventure Boot is also comfortable to walk in, especially after it breaks in. I have work mine all day, including some extended walking, and some climbing. So obviously stopping for coffee isn't a problem.
They do seem to have one negative though, and this may be more of an issue in the dry Colorado climate than elsewhere, but the surface begins to crack on them. I had my first pair begin to crack and had them replaced under warranty. I find the second pair now doing the same. I don't know how much it compromises the boot, since the tri-tex liner is on the inside of the boot. But I feel it shouldn't do that. By the same token, if you take a chance with them and find yours also crack, Triumph will replace them under warranty and you get a new warranty with the new boot.

Thanks for the info. on the boots. I did a search and saw others also having issues with the leather cracking. How old are your boots? Wonder if they have corrected the problem?
I don't really want to buy them only to have to return them regularly. Knowing my luck they wouldn't crack until after the warrantee has expired.
Thanks
Scott

Scott,
First pair was purchased in November of 2011 and replaced in I believe June of 2012 under warranty. The replacement boot looks absolutely the same, and exactly the same issues occurred.
One additional item I did forget, is that the boot has some black textile material inside the tongue. That began to fray and then separate in the original boot along where it is stitched. I immediately treated the area where it is stitched with seam sealer to prevent the fraying, and that seemed to have worked.
If you are gambling on them having updated the boot, well it is always possible, but I would make sure you have a good relationship with your dealer so that they can replace it under warranty if necessary. If Triumph keeps replacing the boot. My dealer told me if it did it again, they would work with me on replacing it with something else. I think maybe the Forma Adventure Boot. I already have a pair of the Sidi Adventure Rain, and they aren't my favorite boot. I think I have only worn them maybe 4 times? They don't breath well at all and my feet tend to get *really* hot in them.
