I do the same kind of riding that cug describes and the last time I checked (using actual math) the bike gave me 43mpg. That's the lowest I've ever gotten, and I attribute it to the "winter blend" of gasoline.

My bike is 100% stock map & exhaust. Over the 8 months I've had it (as of today), I had been getting a consistent 48mpg, so that number was a surprise to me. I wasn't out hammering the throttle either, just riding my usual routes and in the normal way.

I too get between 48 and 52 MPG's. I am a commuter of almost all highway miles. My avg speed is 60MPH. The best I have gotten was 254 miles to a tank, all highway Sunday morning no traffic. My bike is stock map and pipe, no hard luggage, only Triumph soft luggage and I am at 3000 miles plus on the odo as of now on a 2013 Tiger 800 ABS A! street model.
