Have had the odd problem recently with my 02 Tiger. This is really rare as I have not had many problems in the 8000 miles Iv had her. A couple of times Iv filled up with normal unleaded and not super unleaded and never thought much about it until the last time i did it. Every so often when going through traffic the engine would start hunting and then suddenly cut out. The engine would turn over normally but would not fire up until about the fourth go. Has anyone else had this problem with the two fuels and which is recommended by Triumph.

Secondly lots of photos Iv seen on this site have BMW Hand guards (SORRY FOR SWEARING THERE GUYS) but like most of us who do a lot of touring they are better than the Tigers original items. Question is what model BM are they from and do you have to mess around alot to fit them. :hammer:

Might have just been some bad gas as I've always used the regular unleaded or the mid-grade (if at a un-major brand gas station) and never used premium as my dealer and other guys have said that's a waste of money as these are designed to work better with the lower octane ratings. Always thought it was better to use premium but have now figured out my two bikes don't need it and don't benefit from the higher octane.

The recommended fuel in the UK is called "Premium Unleaded".
The use of any other grade is harmful to the environment because "Super Unleaded" is designed for use with a catastrophic converter which the '02 doesn't have.
It will, apparently, run on real sh1t octane. The ECU is programmed to cope.

the tiger is designed (FI ones) to run on 95octane (European octane rating) fuel. Anything more is simply going to be blown out the back. It could be you have a bad batch of fuel or perhaps some ***** has gotten into the tank.
