Help me pull the trigger!
Ok, so I'm poised and ready to pull the trigger on a 2012 Tiger 800 roadie ABS in Venom. The dealer is knocking off $1250 and offering 3.99 percent financing as the 2013 are coming in and they need to roll remaining '12s. Looking at trading in my 2009 Road King, of course they are low balling me on that, but I understand they have to make a profit. Does this sound like a good deal?
I have ridden both the XC and the standard, I just love the way the standard looks and handles, and I feel more comfortable with it's ergos. I sware the windshield had less buffeting too, maybe because I was sitting slightly higher above it than compared to the XC or something. I will never do more than a rare trip down a dirt road so I'm not interested in the XC's off road prowess.
So tell me how you are liking your Tiger 800 after some miles, has this bike grown on you? Would you buy one again tomorrow? Has it been stone reliable? I have only owned one other Triumph, ten years ago (thus my screen name) and it was a great reliable bike.
Are there any known issue with the Tiger 800 that I should be aware of?
Thanks for any feedback!

My Tiger 800 ABS roadie is my 5th Triumph, 3rd of the Hinckley generation.
So far, it's fast-becoming my favorite. My previous bikes were (counting backwards) a 2005 Tiger 955i and a 2000 Sprint RS. While I just never felt completely at home on the Tiger 955i, the Sprint RS was a bike that fit like a glove for as long as my body let me ride it.
Yes, I would buy the same bike again tomorrow, no question. I have had no complaints or issues with anything. The only problem I had so far was snaking the wires through the handlbars for the heated grips. That problem was me alone, and was fixed with a beer and a cigar break.
Granted, I'm only up to 4400 miles on it, but it's been just great. The ABS has kicked in just once (that I noticed), and made me a convert. I don't otherwise even notice its there. I'll probably go the the Michelin Pilot Road 3 tires when the stock Pirelli's are gone, but it looks like I've got another 4 or 5000 miles left in these.
The deal is OK. You can't expect much more, though you should get him to give you at least 20% off the accessories you want along with that deal.

Ok, so I tried to work on the deal a little more with the dealer, they would not budge on the 1100 bucks in fees that they tack on, so I had to say "pass" for now.

28,000 miles on mine since I picked it up in April 2011.
It is absolutely, far and away the best bike I have ever owned. If I could only have one bike, it would be this one.
So go and get one.

Where are you located? Are there any other dealers near you that you can try?
I have no idea where "North Cackalacka" is.

You must have a lot of free time lol. I put 28,000 miles on my 09 Speed Triple and I thought that was a lot. I bought it in April 2010 with 1,700 miles on it.

And I didn't include the mileage I put on my other bikes.
It has been an extraordinarily good couple of riding years.

Yes! Excellent point, I am going to try another area here in North Carolina tomorrow, already sent them an email inquiry to see if they have any inventory and gave them the details on where I'm at as far as the numbers are concerned. So it was 10,880 out the door for a 2012 T800 ABS...

I got two dealers bidding against each other and got them to eat the dealer fees and sales tax of almost 10%. Out the door for MSRP.
I have 6500 miles since June and am very glad I bought it. I thought I might need to add a heavy sport-touring bike like a Concours or FJR for the long trips but right now I don't think so. The Madstad wind screen works so well I think the only time I would wish for bigger is in a cold rain.
When I get to a really twisty morsel of pavement I can leave an FJR for dead.
