Greetings all,
I was looking to buy a 2006 silver Tiger when I ran into a used 95 black Tiger for substantially less. I've searched the forum and nobody seems to have written about them. Personally I think they're a tad better looking than the current design. Any opinions and where can I get a nice sounding aftermarket exhaust for it?
Thanks,
Kurtyboom (the guy that got you all the Rocket accessories)

Just a 'tad'? COME ON!!! :flam:

Search on 'sprag'...or 'Steamer'...you should find lots. Also check the yahoo board and triumph-tiger.com.

Nice thread here about exhausts: http://www.triumph-tiger.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=959

I have Yoshimura and LOVE them...but they're NLA. Renegade, D&D, BOS are some others.

Good luck!

Pick an exhaust brand and there is a good possibility they will do a can for the Tiger.

The 95 will be substantially less than an 06, its a helluva lot older. I think generally speaking the newer 955 engine is considered to be better and the suspension on the 955's is also supposed to be a bit better. However if you are happy with an older model, good for you. As has been said you are looking for news on the steamers.
I am sure she will be a great ride just the same.

Thanks David,
I've only had it a day but I'm loving my 95 black steamer. The engine with 10k on it is great! I'll post a pic soon. I think this is the only one on the planet of the carb model that was for sale. I'll ride this until those great stylist's at Triumph come up with a sexier new version.
The only slipon that I found that is easily gotten is the D&D. Anybody have one of these on theirs?

Try Renegade. They get a good name and I am sure if they dont have one they would make one for you!

Mmmm...Renegade...they pop up on Ebay (usually the UK site) every once in awhile...but are still usually very pricey...

Maybe search on wreckage yards in the UK - seem to be lots of them that list bikes.

Kurtyboom ..
There's a gal up in NH that has the perhaps the first '95 in the country. She rode it from NH to Arkansas to the Tiger Ride-In. Her husband rides a '98!

Thanks,
Do you have any contact info from this gal from NH?
At this point I am leaning towards the Renegade pipes. They are pricey but reviews on them have been great. Checking into Thunderbikes (NZ) but passing on the D&D's..loud and I never liked their character.
MRA will adapt their carb tiger touring screen with a spoiler so thats where I will probably start with wind protection.
Lastly will probably get a corbin to raise the seat height for my 6'4" frame.
I know why Triumph changed the tank design on the newer models. The bike I got was dumped on it's side. I noticed a slight leak from one of the inserts that holds the lower fairing in place. I removed the panel and noticed the inserts are in the tank. thus a "good banging" might cause a leak. So when I get it repaired I'm getting the Jack Lilley protector.
