This is my first post. I have a down payment on a 2005 lucifer orange Tiger in, B'ham AL (USA). After the swelling goes down in my ankle from a recent crash on a totaled V Strom. I hope to pick up the Tiger in mid October. I was wondering and please forgive me for asking:

1. Motolights that attach to the front forks good or bad.
I don't see many kits available that would let you attach PIAA driving lights up higher.

2. Relays to tie in the headlights together. Does it take
tow relays or one to make this work. I saw reference to a 5 blade relay part # 4RD003520-08 for later models and a four blade relay 4RA940010-71 for ealier models.

Sorry for the questions and I look forward to participating in the forum.

Out the door on the Tiger it will have:

Heated Grips, Engine Bars, Corbin Saddle, Center Stand,
Triumph after market Exhaust, downloaded remap of FI, Front Mud Guard, Marsee Tank Bag, Triumph side bags with
Givi 52 litr topcase, bungee buddies on side bags.

Thanks,
:-D

Congrats on the new toy!! I got mine after wiping out my FJR1300 and have never been happier with a bike. After you get over the extra height issue, the bike is a kick. Here in the states, both headlights are on all the time so no relay needed. I've not seen any add on lights that don't look like add on lights so no help there. I would recommend the Touratech bars as they've saved my Orange Tiger on the one and I'm sure not the last time it took a timble when I was playing in the dirt/gravel. I got a CeeBailey's windscreen +6 high and +2 wide and am very happy with that addition. I also got the Corbin seat and it is nice. The only thing about it is that it's a little wider at the front so it pushes your legs out a bit which doesn't help with the height issues but I've heard and seen on my other Corbin's that they will break in and should work better after a few miles. I've not done the pipe but may at some point but she runs good now and I like the burbles you get when downshifting. I also put on a BagLux tank cover that has a small tank bag that attaches to it with clips, very handy and I think looks good. The cover goes over the whole tank and is orange with the grey stripes. I had to get it from the UK but it was worth it to me. Once again, enjoy!!!

Thanks Gary,

I am 6'3" have a 36 inch inseam. I know what you mean by being wider I've had a Corbin before with Ohlins shocks but still could just barely flat the bike I was on. I will be ordering the Touratech engine bars tomorrow for sure. I may go with the fork mount motolights for visibility not so much to see more but to be seen.

Thanks for clearing up the head light thing for me, that saves me some research. I'll check into Baglux and give it
some thought. I think I may go with a MRA touring screen,
looks kind of funky but have read good things about it.

Edit: I looked at the Baglux site is it the Roppongi 15 ltr orange bag that you went with.

I went with the Orange Tank protector part # 1392K and then the Mini TT N.24 bag part # 4849C1 which is a nice fit and snaps in to place on the cover. It has a see-through map pocket on the top and a handy pocket to put the cell phone in. I highly recommend both and the Touratech bars are easy to put on as it's basically 8 bolts and there are threads on this site to help. The Touratech bag that goes over the rear portion of the seat is also really handy if you want to go on a day trip without the side bags which is what I do when I plan on taking it off-road just in case the inevitable fall-down happens. Had one samll one so far and broke off the right bar-end but thanks to the Touratech bars and not having my side bags on, no other damage just a scuff or two which adds character.

Hey Dirdog! Welcome aboard. Csan you share what happened on the Strom? Maybe it is something I should watch out for when I am out on mine. If I had to keep one bike it would definately be the Tiger, you made the right choice!

Not the Strom's fault for sure. In hindsight I don't believe
there was any thing I could have done to avoid the crash.
Writing this from the USA I was headed south on very busy road I slowed down at a traffic lighted intersection and slowly preceded to turn right onto another very busy highway.
As I began to accelerate about 200 feet from the intersection
a car had pulled out of private parking lot on my far left and
was headed straight across the road directly into my path.
I saw her coming to late she was right in front of me my only hope was to get on the brakes vear left and low side the bike into her to avoid T boning her and even worse her T boning me. I just don't know how I could have avoided it, clearly she was at fault but this boot cast I wear doesn't take names. I'll recover and will be on the Tiger in a few weeks.
