My original Metz Tourances will need replacing soon and I wondered whether there's much advantage in fitting road-only tyres?
Are they easily available in Tiger sizes in the UK?
Are they hugely better?
My inclination is to stick with the Tourances, as they have lasted well, grip ok wet and dry, and look "right" for the big tig.
What about the Michelin Annakee's?
Opinions welcome. Thanks!

If I was staying dual sport tyres I would stick currently with the Tourances however as I only ride on road, I recently changed to Michelin Pilot Roads. I am using them tubed. I have had it confirmed by Michelin that this is ok!

Difference in handling was amazing. She tracks much better feels like she is velcroed onto the road and brakes much better as well. grip is good wet or dry, warm up pretty fast but dont get too hot so hopefully should last ok.

Overall I find them to be a HUGE improvement over stock. I run them 2psi down on standard.

I'm not sure I want to go to road only tyres just yet, despite the improvements you mention. I haven't had the Tourances from new, so I think I'll try a set of them first (or Annakees?) to get a baseline, then see how I feel.

I had the tourances on for 18k miles and never had a problem with them, but others have.

I've done about 1k miles on the BT020's and they are ok, just that, not as big a difference as would make me get another set. Unless of course they match the mileage of the Tourances

The problem some were having with the Tourances seems to have been solved by Metzeler, apparently it was a bad batch.

I've only done a few hundred miles so far, wet and dry, but I'm amazed at how well this Tigger handles, and the Tourances, despite having done 8000 miles, grip well and are stable.
I like the look of them too.

Blimey! At 8000 miles my Tourances (rear) are worn out. 12K from a front.

I have yet to be convinced that there is a better tyre out there than the Tourance for both mileage and grip together.

I haven't done the first 7000 miles on my bike, so can't say how hard they were used, but I suspect not very.

8k (or looking like 9K in my case) and 12k is great, and makes a nice change.

I prefer my Anakees to the Tourances & not just because the Tourances cracked up, its one of these questions that has as many answers as there are riders out there.

If you want sporty lean angles on the road but would still like to get across the wet grass at a campsite without the rear spinning uselessly, try Dunlop D607s.

I have moved from Anakees to these and now have 1k miles on them. They have sportbike profile but a tread pattern that that looks like fish net.

I find I can can get huge lean angles with much more confidence than the Anakees (and they weren't bad to start with) due to the rounder profile. It turns more quickly as well.

Downsides ? Straight line stability at low speed is reduced and it feels a bit vague in slow traffic. The Anakees were better here. There is also some howl noise but the Anakees did that as well. Longevity is unknown at the moment.

Worth considering if you don't want to go to full road tyres.
