The very first add on is CRASH BARS !!    everyone drops there Tiger at some point and its usually at walking speed. if you have a look in the Album at the top of your post you will find every possible thing you can fit to a Tiger, as for the screen, it all depends how tall you are. Happy Hunting !!

enjoy your new Tiger !!

Fit the front mudguard extender. It protects the oil cooler a lot!

I like the gel seat, others have been less convinced. Much cheaper than the alternatives.

Tyres depends on what type of riding you do. If its 100% surfaced road I have found Michelin Pilot Roads to be superb. They offer far better grip than the all-road tyres and braking is also much better because of the extra grip.

I also like the Triumph aftermarket can. Improves things but is not obnoxiously loud. You can bimble past plod and he wont give you a second look or let rip and hear the sweet sound of the triple.

In my humble opinion the only accessories needed on a standard 06 Tiger are a Scottoiler and the additional relays to allow both headlights on together. The rest is personal and just icing on the cake.

For what it's worth, my additions beyond that are Triumph top box with backrest, Touratech cross-bar and lockable GPS mount, Garmin GPS, Autocom, Triumph race can and tune.

I'm over 6 foot, overweight, and done lots of miles, but never really had any unbearable problems with the standard seat or screen. I recommend you get off the bike every 200miles, and don't do over 85mph for prolonged periods

> Touratech cross-bar and lockable GPS mount,

How secure is that when fitted Chris? With bike parked outside would you leave the GPS unit on when going in for a meal? an overnight stop?

Outstanding forum response! Thanks for the insight into this great bike. It sounds like, with a few basics, I should be good to go. Thanks for the help!

Hi Kevin,

It locks the GPS on with a key - see PICS
I'd say its secure enough to deter any passing/opportunist thief. Anyone with access to the right sized allen key could remove the cross-bar and take the whole thing! Then again anyone with a pick-up truck could take the whole bike!! I never leave the GPS on the bike at at an overnight stop, but I regularly leave it on at shorter stops.

My Tiger almost got stolen only a week after I bought it. I recommend a good lock. Only a deterant but cheap insurance. The casual thief is obviously impressed with the look of the Tiger. I don't ever intend to make it easy for him again.
I second the crash bars. Mine went down while backing into a parking space at work. I didn't have bars installed but got very lucky. The tank and engine cases were spared. This bike goes down so easy it's silly. So for me it's crash bars and a lock. Both provide piece of mind that make riding that much more of a treat.
