I had just pulled into the car park at the Pondy on Sunday after a brisk run down from Lancs.

I came to a halt just behind my mates CBR 1100 and tried to stabilize the bike as the missus went to step off, but the ground to my left sloped away...
Over she went (the bike that is) and catapulted her indoors at my other two mates! she was shaken but not hurt.. (The missus that is).
The Hepco and Becker engine bars suffered two grazes but thankfully there was no other damage to the bike. Funny how you know its going to go over yet you just don,t seem to be able to even shout for help!.. It seemed to happen slowly yet I just froze and tried to lay the bike down as gently as I could.
Many thanks to the other bikers who came to our assistance It was much appreciated.
TF.

Welcome to the club - laid mine down (gently) on both sides now. I think I started off being a bit nervous of the height and weight then as it's so easy to ride got over-confident. It would be interesting to hear from people who haven't had their Tigers go to sleep on them.......

After only 1000 miles I just layed my cat down this morning? PUlled into the lot at work and turned right while stopping on an uphill slope. With the wheel turned and already leaning uphill that gravity thing took over as she was already part way over. No way to bring her back up. She just slowly went down and I too tried to lay it down G-E-N-T-L-Y.
Only damage was some scratches on the right bar end. Tank and engine cases all ok. And I don't even have any crash bars fitted yet! Wow, I'm one lucky boy.
Question: How do you lift up this thing. I tried and tried, used my back to back into it. Nothing. Took two of us to get her back up. Anyone got any ideas on how to pick her back up when you're by yourself? I'm 6' and 210 lbs. so I'm not exactly a "little guy" but I could not even get her part way up.
Now, let me see, what is the web address for touratech....?

I have a vague memory of being told to turn the bars/front wheel away from the ground, put on the front brake and then pick the bike up. So far I have been lucky enough not to have to give this a try!

I have dropped mine twice now. Once with a group of other riders and once by myself. I got that sucker up by myself through sheer panic!

Pikers, I am up over 10 drops. I have stopped counting. No engine guards but the bags are pretty scratched up.

I have found that rolling it backwards is the easiest way to get it up by yourself but you need a lot of room.

Swoody...your turn will come when you least expect it.
