no idea but given you get the oil container with the pro-oiler why would you want/need to?

I have been unhappy with my pro-oiler as it doesn't reliably dispense oil when I push the button so I always have to check to see if it working. I use a loobman on my Vstrom and after some intial setup headaches I find it much more reliable with less overshoot. I have bought one for the Tiger and will be installing prior to my next big trip.

Fred

Edited text: My bad. I realized on the way home that this was abotu the pro oiler and not the Hawke oiler. I apologize!

erm

the pro-oiler pumps oil automatically, not when you push the button!

Mine is perfectly reliable, the thing does its job and no messing with vacuum pipes etc. Clip it into the speedo wire, set her up and let her go. If you have had some problem, call/e-mail Pablo and he will be very helpful and help you sort out
1) your understanding of what it does and how it does it
2) any potential fault

I realized that after I posted (I was having a hectic day at work and was looking for a little distraction...I will try not to do that again), that is why I edited the PS into my post.

As my present scotoiler has the big tank and the dual pipe system it just seemed a good idea to use those bits. They are already mounted and will save installation time and perhaps some dough thats all.
BTW. how on earth do you buy a pro-oiler. Their web site seems to be designed to do every thing except sell the things. It is perhaps one of the worst in existance.

To buy online hit the contact page m8 or call Pablo direct.

Asd to using existing bits check out the FAQ's

Quote:
1. I already have a chain-oiler. Do I need to replace those lines with ones provided?

The Pro-Oiler system is pumped, which means:

. It's able to push oil through much smaller ID tubing (1.8mm) than gravity feed systems (which typically use 5mm OD x 3mm ID polyurethane tubing)

· Keeping the quantity of oil in the lines as low as possible is a major plus all round, because:

· The lower the oil volume in the line, the quicker the lines fill when priming [see FAQ: Priming]

· 1m of 3mm ID line contains 7.07ml of fluid

· 1m of 1.8mm ID line contains 2.54ml - just over 1/3 as much

· On a normal "dry" setting, it takes about 170km to pump the contents of a 1m length of 1.8mm ID line, but... about 470km of 3mm ID line!

· The smaller the head of oil in the lines, the less the "pull" of the capillary action - and the less chance there is of an oil drip (from whatever source) when the system is off
The kit comes complete with the nozzles etc and would probably be more expensive to buy the bits seperately.
If you want a bigger oil container then I am sure if you ask at time of purchase something could be worked out though the standard should be good for 6-10k kms as this system is much more accurate than others I have looked at.

yes contact was made and all is well. Paid via pay-pal and this was a possible stumbling block. Still all I await now are the goods.
To all with a scot oiler its perhaps being aware that riding in dusty farm track conditions can throw up enough crud to block a scotoiler in no time. The dust seems to clog up the feed pipe and work its way upwards for some way. It was a swine to clean out. Hopefully a positive pumped operation may overcome this as there should be more force than the gentle syphon action of a scotty.
