On many web forums there's a "view new posts" button which lists all the threads into which new posts have been added since the last visit.

I can't see one of those here so is there another way of seeing what's happened since the last time I was here?

Thanks.

Yes there is...If you look at the list of topics in the forum, you will see a little icon that looks like a sheet of paper on the far left hand side against every thread in the forum. If the icon is just plain white and not moving, then there has been no further post since you last visited. If it is still white but moving, then there has been more than six posts. If it is brown, then it is a new thread since you visited, and if it is brown and moving then it is a new post with more than six posts.

Sounds confusing???, look at the very bottom of the listing page and there is a legend which explains it.

Hope this helps ??

Jim

I'd never got to the bottom of the page before so had never seen the legend. Thanks Jim, that'll make things much simpler.

Edit: Although I'm not quite sure when that refreshes. As a test I just read a topic, went back to the topic index and refreshed it - the topic was still showing as unread. I then closed down my browser, restarted it and came back to the topic index. It was still showing as unread.

Later Edit: Although it has updated now I have returned later.

Kevin
