TIGER 800 & 800XC launched today
The full Tiger spec, features, gallery and some accessories are now on the UK Triumph website. http://www.triumphadventure.com/ Pretty much as expected. No prices as yet - or at least none that I can find. However my dealer confirms the MCN pricing as being accurate 800 £7000, XC £7550, ABS £600

I was kind of hoping for a lower seat height. No need for me to rush over to the dealer other than to look. The 06 Tiger will do me just fine till its worn out. Everything else about the XC is very appealing to me, lighter, good power, great looking platform, but I need the advantage of a little bit lower riding position.

The new info on the Triumph website shows a low seat option on the 800 some 20mm lower than the std seat. If this will fit the 800xc, this would give a seat height of 825mm for the XC which is 10mm lower than the 1050 on std setting and equal to the 1050 with the low seat and lower than the 955.

the more I look at it the more I like it especially as it should be a lot lighter and the seat a lot lower than the 1050.
Im only worried that the 800c wont do for me what the 1050 does.
I think 6 months should reveal exactly how good or bad the latest creation is, hopefully not a frankensteins monster.

Well, after all the debates on here ie; 955i/1050
I think Triumph have got it spot on, a bit GS and a bit Multiducato and that's a good thing, decent power lighter and the suspension looks good, good tank size ect.
The price also is good, compare it to a Yamaha TDM 900 (price and spec) and there is no compitition.
I will wait till next Spring though and see what the reaction is ( but I want one)....
What will Triumph do with the 1050 though?
Tiger 800 Tiger 800XC Tiger 1050 Tiger 1200?????
Where will it end
" what Bike is that mate" it's a Triumph eerrr no it's a new make a Tiger

I think I'll wait it out a bit also, especially since we are forecast to have a rough winter.
I think the 1050 will still be the bike of choice for those 6ft and over.

I don't think it will be - it's similar weight to the BMW 800, and a bit more powerful. I think a lot of thought has gone into this bike, and I think it has every chance of being a very capable dual sport motorbickle.

And we need to manage expectations.
It's NOT going to have ST3 like handling and performance right out of the box.
It's going to be like an ST3 that's been somewhat softened, lengthened and stretched, to make going off-road feasible, and provide a better perch for your pillion.
I bet a decent after-market can, and a good EFI map would pep it up a bit though!
