Hi guy's, help is required. I have a question for all those technical guru's out there in the hope they can ease my mind. My 98 steamer hits a patch of engine vibration between 3000 and 3500 rpm in any gear and under any load. Once on the other side of this patch it rev's all the way to the red line as clean as you like but at 3k rpm feels as if it's being strangled. My question is, do they all do that ?? or am I being paranoid. I've not had the bike very long and am a bit put off by this vibration as it is at a point in the rev range where i seem to always be.

Andy.

Sounds familiar, my 2000 EFI does the same around 3000 rpm, feels like it's running a bit rough, then it's OK again above that. Triumph mech agreed with me but couldn't tell me the reason. I've learnt to live with it - running at 5000 - 6500 rpm gets you moving a lot quicker anyway :-D I've put it down as a fuel map issue, but so far this has not confirmed by anyone....

Mine is really smooth up to about 55 mph or 3800 rpm approx. I just have 2000 miles on a 2005 and love everything about the bike but that. I really don't want to get into the re mapping the fuel injection but think thats what it will take. What have others done? When going down the interstate at 75 you get numb hands quick.
