Does the tiger get badly affected by crosswinds?

I find it very stable in crosswinds at least compared to other bikes I have ridden.

Have to say i've found completely the opposite,in really high winds have found the Tiger really iffy, comeing back from Le-Mans in april a couple of years ago came out of Dover got blown across both lanes of the carriage way, turning the handle bars and suddenly realiseing that the front wheel wasn't even touching the floor, although i've to say that was two up a topbox and tank bag so there was plenty to blow about!!!!!.

Compared to my Trophy the Tiger doesn't seem to move about quite as much. Probably down to the fairing on the Trophy.

Quite a few different factors can affect the bike in a strong wind.

Affected, yes. Badly? That's rather subjective, but I'd say no.

If I'm going to take a long ride on a windy spring day, I'll more often take the Bonneville (sans windscreen) or the Rocket. They are somewhat less tiring in crosswinds over the long haul because I don't have to alter my riding position as much.

However, I do take the Tiger out in the wind sometimes. I just have to keep my head and torso low and out of the air stream as much as possible. Even though the Tiger has a relatively tall wind profile, I'm apparently less stable in a crosswind than the bike is.

My final work-related trip last year was on the Tiger. We had some unusually hot weather for May, and the mid-day heating of open fields in central Georgia made for some very serious convection. Gusts of 55mph were being reported at observing stations in the area.

My first clue that anything was amiss was when I started noticing traffic signs flapping to and fro, like the scene in Close Encounters where the alien spaceship glides over Richard Dreyfuss' truck. Passing from a row of trees to where open fields adjoined the road was quite an experience, but I quickly learned that if I stayed low, the bike was easy enough to handle.

Well...
Coming back from Sturgis we rode 11 hours in the wind..not bad once you adjust.

I did get blown TOTALLY across 2 lanes of interstate in South Dakota when a storm brewed up and the wind compressed between a couple of hills! ( That can give you things to ponder)

Other than the extremes.... the Tiger is great in the wind!

Considering that the Tiger is about as aerodynamic as a house brick, it is to be expected that you will get some 'interference from crosswinds' When the bike is loaded up it is about 5ft high and a solid wall for the wind to hit!

Coming back up the french peage roads this year i was riding at what felt like about 45 degrees just to keep it in a straight line. But hey, that's the Tiger for you. There's plenty of more 'slippery' bikes out there, but they ain't Tigers are they ?

It is an acceptable fact for an otherwise brilliant bike

Any bike will suffer to some degree in crosswinds.
Compared to fully faired bikes she is definately affected less. Compared to naked bikes I have found her to be less prone to being blown about (possibly the extra weight). I have ridden mine from Central Scotland to Hull in gale force wind and rain and she never gave cause for concern.
